Tied up, Zimmer botched a ball in center field. Bottom of the 9th coming up.

Zmac is a long reliever only. He should never be in that situation. He's blown it twice now recently.

ZMac pitches mostly 1, sometimes 2 innings per appearance. With Allen pitching the 9th and Shaw the 10th, who should be up next ahead of him, I guess Goody and JSmith.

Damn, baseball is brutal...incredible rally and win last night and less than 20 hours later a comeback rally and tie with Lucroy behind it and then a loss in 12th.

Be a fun World Series if it were to happen

I don't know how you blame the pitching… The offense has been pathetic the last four games. Hell, Corey Kluber almost lost a complete game 3 hitter last night. Offense has left them no room for error.
  • vball10set
I didn't see any highlights of the game, but the local guy here said "Allen blew the save"--is that accurate, or could Zimmer have done something to prevent it?

No. It was a double. He slide to cut it off to have a shot at cargo going home. He fields it cleanly, it's close if they send him. But even still, 2/3 only 1 out. Run easily could've gotten home. Allen left too many pitches up. Didn't use the curve enough.

Bruce to Tribe, per Rosenthal. Not sure what we gave up.
  • Ironman92
Bruce is a real good guy it irritating as hell at the plate....he's got ample pop and getting out of Cincy was good for him. His inconsistency is maddening. Could be big though

He will fit right in lol.

In all seriousness, this is a great trade. Indians are hemmoraghing with injuries, and have a lack of power. Lots of guys hit them, but this season only EE has hit a lot (and Lonnie when playing). Seems to have made it difficult to score consistently, because have to string together lots of hits in a game. Bruce makes it possibly to score enough to win without needing 5 hits in an inning.

Ryder Ryan....22 year old Class A pitcher from Lake County....not a top 30 prospect.

I hope this doesn't mean Brantley is worse than expected. But either way, bolstered a very weak bench for nothing.

Lots of lefties in the OF, but all solid to plus players in field and at plate (not surenkn Bruce in field, but always seemed above average).

Zimmer, Brantley, Chiz, Jackson, Bruce (hopefullynot Abe) makes for a tough decision when (if) all healthy. At very worst, hell of a weapon off the bench from someone.
  • Ironman92
Bruce has a surprisingly good arm. He doesn't always get a great read on it and in a big OF struggles going back towards wall making a catch.

I would consider him an average RF defender with a slightly above average RF arm.
