He had a career year last year but, other than that, he hasn't done anything significant since 2013. He did have a career high BA in 2015.

...so is he beginning to decline?

I don't recall all of his injuries but he's not a young guy. Might be starting to break down?

He's the exact same age as Bruce...to the day.

I can't figure Kipnis out. Great clubhouse guy and has been a really good player for this team. he just hasn't been someone you can count on this year and when you have the pitchingmthis team has and have an expectation to make it to the end....well,....you listen to trade discussions if you think you can help yourself. I don't know if Bruce and Cabrrera can help this team but I sure would play all scenarios out in my head and not just dismiss trading Kipnis...or a lot of others. Everything should be open for discussion...not necessarily action but certainly discussion.

Is Jay Bruce a second baseman, or even an infielder? If so, then let's grab him....but AssCab?? no
  • Con_Alma
Not really. He's more of a corner guy.

I just don't want to see them do something stupid and move Mejia. I don't think this year's team has the DNA to make a return to the WS and dumping Mejia, unless they got a real nice haul in return and someone they could control for multiple years, would be an Ubaldo-like trade move.

The point is not about trading Kipnis or not. That return is a joke though.

When healthy...an AS 2B on a ridiculously team friendly contract, running through 2020 (team option) for Asdrubal and 3 months of Jay fucking Bruce? Lol. Tribe brass should be smacked if they are considering this.
