Laley23If there was ever a time for the Tribe to be crazy and go against their principles...it's for Lindor. Give him $20M a year for 10'years now. It will be a steal within a year.

SonofanumpJust curious, has there ever been a long term deal that worked out for the club?
Guess my first thoughts are ARod, JuanGonz, RyanHoward. -

Jeter, Trout, Pujols (in STL), A-Rod, Ichiro, Miggy, Cano, Vlad, R Johnson, Sabahia, Pedro...and that's me hammered thinking of only last 15 years. -

What did those guys do on contract #1, which Lindor will be getting? CC only one who has struggled, but he won a CYA and a World Series. I'll spend whatever for that, every time.Sonofanump;1849164 wrote:Pujols not so much for LAA

I am thinking more about total sum and length of the deals, become monetary albatross halfway thru the contracts, not what they do years one and two.Laley23;1849178 wrote:What did those guys do on contract #1, which Lindor will be getting? I hope that the Indians can trade security of wealth for years on Lindor's contract. Appears that Lindor is betting on the big payday in FA over certainty. -

They do, but not usually on their first big one. A-Rod won like 4 MVPs on his first contract.Sonofanump;1849268 wrote:I am thinking more about total sum and length of the deals, become monetary albatross halfway thru the contracts, not what they do years one and two.

It was the second one the Yankees gave him that sucked.
