Fuck, I can't sleep. Too hyped. Can we just blow them out tomorrow? Cripes.

How demoralizing does this have to be for Toronto? Lose and still can't score against 9 innings of bullpen...with Klubot looming

    Andrew Miller 2016 postseason:

    9 inn, 22 strikeouts

Indians have 2 of the top 3 most exciting players of the entire playoffs so far and the most dominating player.

To go Merrit/ clevinger or not to go. Interesting strategy for Tito.

He just reconfirmed Kluber in his presser. Go for their hearts.

These TBS guys are hysterical. They are calling Lonnie part of our "Big 3". Jimmy Rollins just said, "the other guys needed to step up to help the Big 3...you know the Big 3 is gonna be there day in and day out so who was gonna be that guy and tonight it was Kipnis, Napoli and Ramirez."

Mind blowing. I don't expect them to know the team like we do but come on. Give the guy a film breakdown or something.

I did see it was Kluber. Works for me. Finish it tomorrow.

Not all the breaks went right for Tito! Two gap shots to right, one hit by each team. The ball hit by the Jays took one hop to the wall and died at the base of it after hitting a couple feet up with no rebound which allowed it to be a triple, then an infield grounder scores him. Then the ball hit by Cleveland with a runner on 1st barely goes over the wall which keeps the runner from scoring on that play, and he died on 3rd.

I hate that we are using Kluber on short rest up 3-0. But, no real option that doesn't basically give Jays a win, sans Clevinger/Merritt dominating lol (cause you aren't doing another Pen game).
  • iclfan2
Ehh as long as Kluber is fine with it I'm good. If he has any hesitation then not. I'm sure Tito spoke at length with him about it

Probably more the cynic in me, but my fear is he has never been great on short rest. If they lose, we have Tomlin, Pen game and Kluber again on short rest?
  • Laley23
Not that I don't trust any of those options, but just sucks.

Id just rather forfeit tomorrow and play Wednesday with everyone rested lol.

Tomlin in game 5 would be 3 days rest. I can't imagine that. So if Kluber loses you have pen game for sure game 5. Then Tomlin on full rest for game 6 and Kluber on short rest again.

Will be lots of pressure on Tomlin for game 6 knowing Kluber would have already lost on short rest.

Let's hope it doesn't get to that. As much I want to be there when they clinch the pennant...I'd rather Kluber just end them tomorrow.

Heard Goldhammer say it was a desperation move on the radio. He batted lead-off 40 of his 116 games. 2nd most on the team and 3 behind Devon Travis. Doesn't matter where he bats this series, he is playing like crap.

Researched him during the ECF series, apparently he is one of the biggest Hyundai dealers in Canada and buys 3,000(spending 300,000)seats for Indian kids during the Raptors season.

Couple of other observations from last night.

    1. More from the TBS crew. This time, Gary Sheffield. I'll paraphrase. "We all came here assuming the Blue Jays were going to win tonight and make this a series. It might be time we give some credit to Cleveland. These boys came to play."

Toronto was the Wild Card team, right? That had to sneak into the playoffs? We won the Central? 94 wins? Cake walked into the playoffs. These guys are ridiculous.

    2. I watched a lot of the postgame including interviews. My question: do we think Bauer is liked in the clubhouse? I'm starting to wonder. First of all, he's a different dude. I could see him as a little antisocial to begin with and then his general demeanor is kinda of surly.

The reason I ask...every single player I saw interviewed was obviously asked about the finger. And they all sang the praises of the bullpen....for good reason. But I didn't hear anybody say anything like, "Trevor is our guy. We wanted to pick him up." It was all, "Yea, we thought it might bleed. The bullpen was ready and they did a hell of job." Which is true but it was bizarre to see nobody talk about Bauer at all. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

I think women over analyze texts less than this post.
