2016 Steelers Thread

  • Ironman92
This will keep the NFL thread easier to sift through.

    Steelers move to 4-1

Sammie Coates today looked 65% stud #1 receiver but had 35% of the next Limas Sweed. He had 6 catches for 139 yd and 2 TD...but badly dropped 3 catches and 2 of them were TDs, then missed 2 other balls that were very catchable.

Not sure if AB takes away focus making it easier for him to be open, but whatever it is he is always open. I really wanted to see him some last season but he is a good #2 guy right now. Honestly he reminds me of Josh Gordon a bit.

It about has to be. He is doing a good job with the absence of Bryant.
I was a bit worried about the retirement of Miller but the James hasnt done too bad.
Always good to get a win and now it is the goal to go 1-0 against the Dolphins Sunday. This is the type of game where they have just laid an egg in the past so we shall see how it goes.

Is it at Miami? I hate watching them play there. If in Miami look for a 6-3 or 9-6 type of game

Yeah, its down in their new digs.

Wasnt it the Miami game at Heinz when the field was so bad a punt literally stuck in the ground? They put down a new field in like a week and it was horrible.

I am all for a grass field but man Heinz gets tore up with PItt playing there. Not sure if they still play any HS games there or not. WHen I toured the place years ago they had DDGrassmaster turf. Was supposed to be some new age shit where fake stuff was sewn into the real sod. In theory, making it stronger. I think they got rid of it. I tried to get a good look at it but they dont let you on the grass itself.
  • Ironman92
Yeah, Heinz is a shit field for most conditions. Pittsburgh should definitely beat the Dolphins but I do recognize them losing to 1 or 2 suck ass teams every season so I won't be surprised if they play like garbage, but damnit they should win this game comfortable and go to 5-1 with a touch of an early cushion.

    I do know better.

Just so long one of those isnt against Cleveland.......

I just wish AB wouldnt do his stupid dancing shit and getting penalties. All his fines for uniform violations....I dont care, but the stupid penalties piss me off!

He scored this week and went over and gave ball to some hot girl.

I think those penalties are stupid but he needs to stop most of them. If they are up 34-13 with 4 minutes left over a rival I don't care what he does beyond going to smoke a joint with LeVeon

    In Pittsburgh? Impossible!
(in before any clowns fan steals that joke...)

Yeah, it's one of those annoying things he'll have to adjust to because the NFL's grand scheme to market itself in these times of people around the country being worried about football and the risk of future head/neurological injuries is to...*drum roll* eliminate any instance of players looking like they're actually enjoying themselves!!!!

If I woke up one day and read that someone shot GODdell, I'd call off work to party all day long. Fuck that c*nt.

Honestly, it shouldnt be that difficult to stay out of a penalty situation for celebrating.

I hate them playing in Miami and needing the win (because Miami is just a game you need to win)

Sure 4-2 with an upset and they are still in good position but to get to the championship discussion level...they need to move to 5-1 and then face a tough gauntlet of the next 3 games. Patriots, @Ravens, Cowboys.

Hoping no worse than 6-3 going into game 10 vs Cleveland
  • Ironman92
Pittsburgh off to the horse shit start. No clue why my teams simply cannot do a fucking thing every time they get the ball first.

And now Miami just rolling down the field.

Heyward and Shazier both out ...Foster out on the line. And Mitchell just looked to knock himself out.

    Another 12 yard rush.

I need to find something else to do. Tomlin does not have this team ready.
  • Ironman92
So Miami goes for the onsides, Steelers recover on Miami 40 yard line but fucking Hochuli and crew weren't ready so they have to re-kick and lose 40 yards of field position
  • Automatik
Rather expected. Always playing down to bums. Roethlisberger had two wide open on that horrific pick.

Anyway, beer buckets inbound. Fuck it!
  • Ironman92
Anytime you face a terrible running defense it seems the team just says hey, let's run it right at them. It doesn't ever work that way. Miami is terrible but this is the NFL. Obvious runs don't work against anyone. So right now the Steelers with excellent weapons can't run or pass? Can't block? Defense giving up 10+ yard runs after 10+ yard runs?

Hochuli has called hold after hold, personal fouls amuck.

This is the exact type of game that infuriates me and why I would never bet on an NFL game. This fucking Jekyll and Hyde team. Going to get blown the fuck out at Philly and maybe here at Miami.

This falls on Tomlin. What a terrible fucking game to play like ass.

I'm done. Go Buckeyes and go baseball. Hope Miami now does what KC did last year after Pittsburgh played like shit.

Anyone ever accuse you of being a fair-weather fan?

Nope. I just get so tore up I have to walk away. Steelers in the past have been consistent home and away...on the road this year they were embarrassed by a pretty decent (9-7 type) Eagles team and have scored 8 points at a 1-4 Miami team. That lone score was a freak 60 yard out of his body experience by the play less Darius Heyward Bay.

Offense looks unstoppable and then can't score on a 1-4 team....then injuries to Mitchell and DT Vince Williams mixed with Shazier and Heyward out....currently one of the bottom defenses with those 4 missing.

4-2 and 5-1 seem very far apart

AFC North going winless today so it's not terrible, but I'll never be cool with losing to garbage teams. Happens on the regular. [emoji35]

Silver lining but would rather they all win...at least that way you are getting tie breakers in your favor, or more so.

I've never seen the NFL so even.

Ravens aren't going to lose btw

Currently at a bar with blacked out Gmen fans. Hoping their spirits get crushed.

Beyond that...Giants with a dumb PI inside the 10 on a long ball, OBJ scores, leaves end zone then takes off helmet for 15 yard then on 4th and 5 they late hit Flacco to give him 4 more chances. Geesh

Ok the injuries can stop now. Every single team goes through these spells and right now the Steelers are bitten.

    Next week vs Patriots

Roethlisberger is out. One of their top lineman Ramon Foster out.

On defense arguably 4 of their top 5 players on that side are out. Best pass rusher Cam Heyward, best run stopper Vince Williams, best tackling ball hawk Ryan Shazier and best safety Mike Mitchell. Only good recognizable player is Timmons.

Lost time of possession today 38-22. Gave up 400 yards to Dolphins.

I might start Williams at Rb, take the loss (which is pretty probable)....get the bye week and hope most of those guys are back for @ Ravens

Don't worry. Despite injuring his knee and needing surgery, he'll only miss three games. And Landry Jones will actually be fine while he's gone.
