Minny vs Tribe series thread

    God Bless Kipnis.

Not sure what you all were watching, but what view did you see to overturn that call? Pretty obvious he would be out. All 4 angles were blocked.

Then he needs to get his fat ass in better shape-lol...but no, he didn't do his job--closers don't walk back to back hitters. Period.

Allen got 5 outs. Tito tried to stretch him further than he should've. Period.

You can't have guys specialize in shit, like pen pitching, and then extend them beyond what they train their bodies for. You have other guys in the pen you train for 50 pitches. Most are 1 inning guys.

Hell, some lefty releivers are only working out and have the arm to go like 15 pitches because they are only asked to get 1-2 hitters out in a game.

Trying to stretch a bullpen mans arm out for longer outings results in a decline in their stuff.

    Good win.

    We are all Kipnises.

    Go Tribe.

Good win, good pitching. Still need to see more offense. On to the roller coaster that is Tomlin tomorrow.

blah, blah, blah--again, closers doing their job DO NOT walk back to back hitters. Maybe he should be relegated to a situational one batter pitcher if he can't go more than three guys. Anyway, good win, now let's get another tonight...GO TRIBE!

To be frank, I didn't see anything to overturn the call, but I didn't see a tag either. To use an actual umpire standard, you must see a tag to call someone out...you can't assume a tag.

Is it too early to play the "what inning will Tomlin give up a homer" game?

    It's never too early.

I'll go with the 1st inning. First batter. Get ahead fastball to Dozier that ends up in the bleachers.

Let's pretend Tomlin gets shelled...again....tonight. Will they finally skip his next start? Give Clevinger a start?

For what it's worth...pro baseball bettors hitting the over (9.5 runs) hard in his game. Combination of Albers not starting a big league game since 2013 and Tomlin's recent form. The Tribe are just not hitting, though.

The Twins last 6 games before last night they gave up 9,8,15,8,9 and 8 runs. Come to Cleveland and it's 9 shutout innings.

Tito almost has to, imo...at least I hope so.

You keep saying this. But it's not even true lol. Allen has to be pulled before Sano even steps in. Even Hammy was calling for it..."single by Plouffe, and now Tito has to look at pulling Allen. He is already out for tomorrow and is tiring for tonight. He's well over 25 pitches, which is about his limit."

Allen went K, FO, 2B, K, K, FO, BB, 1B (needs taken out), BB (is taken out). Again, he did his job, Tito just got greedy and tried to extend him since Miller and Shaw had been used already. It's NOT a closers job to go through the entire lineup. It's not anyone in the Pens job to do that, aside from the guys who are there for it.

Molitor tried the same thing. Brought in Kintzler to get the last out of the 8th. He got through the 9th rather easily and then they sent him back out for the 10th. That type of guy isn't used to sitting down between innings and then getting fired back up again...let alone twice. And you could tell he didn't have it in the 10th despite an efficient pitch count going into the inning.

For tonight's game it is the Josh Tomlin drinking game. You take a drink every time he gives up a home run.

    Go Great Lakes Brewing Company

    Go Tribe

point taken...and to be honest, I've been critical of Tito's handling of late, so this does follow the trend (for the record, though, I'm a HUGE Tito fan--wouldn't want any other coach in the league)

I agree Allen should have never faced sano. I think tonight is tomlins last chance. If he struggles I bet we see clevinger the rest of the year

Kip gets half back. Solo job after Rajai was caught stealing.

2-1. Hopefully Tomlin can settle in and give us 5 and only give up 1 more max.
