Tribe played perfect baseball, Tigers had some epic collapses. We still didn't catch them...not sure what you want me to say. I'm not worried.

Laley23Also, Salazar threw about 4 fastballs that inning, and the results were much better. Even if he is locating, he has to mix it up because he has no movement on his fastballs.

My shrink told me to try to be less superstitious. My wife made me go after I wore the same pair of shorts when I was home for an entire 14 game win streak.Laley23;1808474 wrote:Tribe played perfect baseball, Tigers had some epic collapses. Lol. I'm weirdly superstitious. I don't believe in jinxes of any sort, yet will wear the same hat (I have 3 Tribe hats) if they win the game before.TBone14;1808476 wrote:My shrink told me to try to be less superstitious. iclfan2Our offense seems to have disappeared on this trip to the foreign country of California. Hopefully they can regroup and come out strong today at 3:35. Go Tribe!

Dude, I had forgotten all about that. 1978Gardens35;1808473 wrote: 1970's Tribe management..........."We've a problem, Manning is sleeping with his best friend Eckersly ' s wife. Let's trade Eckersly." -
Con_AlmaI believe they switched significant others. Eckersly ended up spending time with Manning's former girl.

Gardens35Con...I think that may have been a couple other guys.

Good article on J Ram. Only 23...24 next month...seems like he would be older as he was originally called up in 2013. It's been fun to watch him breakout this season. -

Yeah, that was Fritz Peterson and another Yankee teammate whose name escapes me at the moment. Kekich?Gardens35;1808484 wrote:Con...I think that may have been a couple other guys. -
cat_loverYes Mike Kekich.

It certainly could have happened with other folks but I'm pretty certain it happened with Manning and Eck. My Father-In-Law worked in the front office in PR during that awful period of INdians baseball. He used to have some interesting stories. Don't know if Eck was trying to get some weird revenge or just felt what's good for the goose is good for the gander ...or maybe he wss just drunk all the time during that period. I also don't know if Eckersly and Manning's ex had a simple one nighter or if it lasted a little long but they were definitely together for a period after Manning stole the former Mrs. Eckersly.Gardens35;1808484 wrote:Con...I think that may have been a couple other guys.
Here's a little reference to it form SI on yardbarker.

TBone14Our 22 year old shortstop getting the day off.
J Ram had a two out double in the first taking his place. Nap got plunked after but Chiz left them both on.
Bauer worked a 1-2-3 first inning and we are off and running Oakland. -
Gardens35^^^Appreciate the updates..............forgot it was a day game.
Go Tribe. -
TBone14Well...Bauer in a major jam in the 2nd. 1 run in. 2 on. Still nobody out.
-
TBone14A's have 3 in the 2nd. Still hitting with 2 outs. I have work to do. This one is a loser with the way our boys have swung the sticks so far this series.
-
iclfan25-0 A's after a Santana error on a pop up. Sorry BRF, your streak is toast. Bauer isn't going to make it out of the 3rd.

You can't stake a team to a 5 run lead, especially on the road --other than Kluber, our starters have been consistently inconsistent.iclfan2;1808505 wrote:5-0 A's after a Santana error on a pop up. Sorry BRF, your streak is toast. Bauer isn't going to make it out of the 3rd. -
TBone14The game isn't over if we could hold them there and chip away. But Tito will get greedy and try to steal an extra inning from Bauer and he'll run into more trouble. That is if we can manage the 'chipping away' part.

Don't worry, I won't lose any sleep over it.iclfan2;1808505 wrote:Sorry BRF, your streak is toast.
Besdes....the game isn't over yet. Have some faith. We'll need it in October. -
iclfan2I'm concerned about our lack of offense against a very bad starting pitching stable.

vball10setThird straight game scoring only one run (ironically today it was scored by Perez, who's hitting .107)...ain't gonna win a whole lotta games that way

Laley23Big series with Texas coming up. I summon out #1 man this season to start the thread...
