Tribe at A's

iclfan2I didn't even see the first pitch. Apparently missed a doozie by Carrasco. And the final strike out for Miller had the batter falling down. Straight dirty.

cat_loverCarrasco good.
Santana good.
Jobu good.
Go Tribe. -
vball10setI know we have Allen fans on here, but I love Miller closing.

Never trailed. Never in doubt.Laley23;1808394 wrote:Well, no thanks to Tbone (but some thanks to I92), the Tribe get the 1-0 win in Oakland to start the road trip! -
TBone14So what are we expecting from Salazar tonight? I could see this thing going any number of ways ranging from a no hitter (8 innings of 1 hit ball vs Oakland on 7-31-15) to him giving up 5 or 6 runs in 2 innings and getting yanked and then everything in between.
-
iclfan2I think he will still be on a pitch count, but I bet he gets pulled by the end of the 6th (based on nothing really). Oakland has another mediocre pitcher so maybe our offense should show up today, especially since Detroit is playing Minnesota.

BRFAnother great win!
I was dozing in and out, but saw the last few innings. Pretty awesome to win a game like that. -

I'm thinking 5 innings, giving up 3 runs.So what are we expecting from Salazar tonight? Gonna take him a start or two to get sharp.....I just hope 'rest' is all he needed. -

all I can say is Otero, Clevenger, Shaw, etc. better be readyTBone14;1808423 wrote:So what are we expecting from Salazar tonight? like_thatIt looks like we are going to have to start paying attention to the Royals. They have been hot lately.

Yep...see post #16....and they won again tonight...9 in a row.like_that;1808457 wrote:It looks like we are going to have to start paying attention to the Royals. They have been hot lately. -
vball10setSalazar...god dammit

They would have to go like 30-10 if we went .500 the rest of the way. Nothing is impossible, but it's very doubtful.like_that;1808457 wrote:It looks like we are going to have to start paying attention to the Royals. They have been hot lately. -

Laley23I'm not saying Salazar isn't off to a bad start, but what the fuck is Giminez calling back there? Salazars change up (and subsequently his other off speed stuff) has been one of the most unhittable pitches in baseball this year. So, we get to 0-2 and still throw 2 more fastballs? No split change? No curve? Just a straight 4-seamer? That's the kind of shit that pisses me off.

Just a couple years ago didn't the Indians come from farther back with way less time?Laley23;1808460 wrote:They would have to go like 30-10 if we went .500 the rest of the way. Nothing is impossible, but it's very doubtful. -
cat_loverThrowing all his pitches up and is getting rocked. I can't tell if something is wrong physically or is it that his location sucks? Or is it a combination of both?
-
vball10setEven Manning said he should have been down for a rehab start before coming back...this isn't on Giminez, this is on Francona. Salazar isn't ready, plain and simple.
-
TBone14Nice job by Salazar there. He ought to have enough left to at least start the 2nd inning.
Offense needs to bail us out again.

Nah. Tribe went 20-6 to end the year, made the WC game.Ironman92;1808465 wrote:Just a couple years ago didn't the Indians come from farther back with way less time?
Tigers finished that year around the .500 it took for Tribe to even be in the race. Royals, IMO, don't have the pitching that Tribe team had. -
Laley23
No I agree. But to not see an off speed pitch to the guy with 32HRs on the year at 0-2 is mind-numbingly stupid. Especially since Carrasco and Perez got him to K 3 times last night by mixing it up, then Miller made him fall down to end the game.vball10set;1808467 wrote:Even Manning said he should have been down for a rehab start before coming back...this isn't on Giminez, this is on Francona. C'mon man. Tribe was 8.5 back after Sept 2nd game....finished 1 game back of the division. The defending World Series champions have at least as much chance as that tribe team, pitching or not.Laley23;1808469 wrote:Nah. Tribe went 20-6 to end the year, made the WC game.
