Phelps and Lochte are both swimming in that one. I would think they have a great chance, but Phelps definitely expended a lot of energy just now.

I didn't either. I was watching Kedeshi and my wife said "lane 7 is going to beat him"...as I glanced down he was finishing and I thought from the aerial view that he beat Phelps, but then camera on water level showed him too close to the wall forcing him to finish in a strange manner and not reach in

i don't see them losing...his toughest race would be 100 fly IMO...medley and remaining relays should be a breeze

Le Clos will be tough to beat in the 100 Fly for sure. He'll be much better than he was tonight.

The 200IM could be tough too since Phelps and Lochte always seem to have close battles in that one. Hoping for 6-for-6 to finish it all off in style, but we'll see.

Hoping Phelps can win a medal but he's probably too far past his prime at this point. I don't know anything about the rest of the athletes, with the exception of the basketball team.
Lol. Don't make predictions when you haven't paid attention in four years.

What a choke job. How many times did NBC show his story/interviews about the 2012 games and how this would be the final showdown.

I'm officially burnt out on women's gymnastics. It's over after tonight, right?

Other than one night of individual all around and two nights of individual events, yes, it is over....

yea time to move onto track and field

Serena Williams went down in singles. Caught the last few sets of the second game. She looked sluggish and exhausted. It looked like every point for Elina Svitolina was a result of Williams just smashing the ball in to the net.

Williams had a late rally in the second game and had the advantage. She hit four straight shots right in to the net to give Svitolina the game.

    This.

Gymnastics is my least favorite of the popular Olympic sports. I have no fucking clue if what the 15 year old gymnast is doing is good or bad.

Give me swimming or beach volleyball any day over gymnastics.

I agree with you guys. Gymnastics is definitely my least favorite as well. Give me Track and Field, Swimming, Volleyball, hell I've really enjoyed watching handball this year.

Probably says a lot about my attention span .. but I only care to watch the short swim races and sprints in track. I could care less about anything over a mile on track.

That's correct but I didn't feel the need nor desire to state that. Thanks for doing so on my behalf....I guess.

I have not watched a single second of the olympics that has not been DVRed. Skip the commercials and the human interest stories and life becomes more efficient.

USA men's off to the expected meh start against a pretty legit Australian team that has 5 NBA players (but no bench)

    Down 25-20 in first

All non-sports like gymnastics and diving should be eliminated from the Olympics.
