2016 NBA Draft/Offseason
-
wildcats20Figured we could stop talking about the Cavs title for a few minutes.
Draft is tomorrow. Simmons is going 1 to Philly. And it has just recently been announced that the Lakers will be taking Ingram at 2. No surprises there, just the order wasn't official.
Celtics have the 3rd pick, as well as 7 others. It's been rumored they are trying hard to trade out of 3.
I'm really intrigued to see where some of the bigger name guys end up going. -
sleeperI don't really know any of the players and I don't really care about the draft.
This is going to be a Cleveland/Warriors league for the next few years anyway. I don't really see anyone else winning a championship, not even the Spurs. -
wildcats20First trade of the offseason...
Jeff Teague to Indiana
George Hill to Utah
Utah's 12th pick to Atlanta
Hawks are fully committing to Schroder. Not sure that's the right move. -

Wait. WUT?!?! That's a horrible trade for the bulls. -

That was exactly my thoughts as well. I find it hard to believe his market was that Limited. Clearly he wouldn't of told a kings ransom by any means but I would've thought you could've gotten a little more in returnCommander of Awesome;1801204 wrote: Sam Amico ‏@AmicoHoops 5m5 minutes ago Chicago Tribune: #Bulls trading Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday & 2017 2nd-round pick to #Knicks for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant & Jose Calderon.

wildcats20Knicks will likely try and sign Dwight now.
Man 5 years ago they might have had something. -

I hope they sign Dwight lolwildcats20;1801211 wrote:Knicks will likely try and sign Dwight now.

Rose is terrible. This is actually a big "Who cares?" trade.HighRoller74;1801206 wrote:That was exactly my thoughts as well. I find it hard to believe his market was that Limited. Bingo. He's a big name but he's washed up. This is a garbage trade by the Knicks, absolute garbage.friendfromlowry;1801225 wrote:Bulls must have been desperate to get rid of him.
Also, the Bulls don't want him either so might as well try to get something out of him. -

I don't think it was a garbage deal for New York. It's not like they can get much worse. The hope obviously is Rose can return to his former self, or somewhere near it. They got rid of Robin Lopez and his garbage contract, last year's #19 pick, and Calderon who will be 35 at the start of the season.sleeper;1801228 wrote:Bingo. He's a big name but he's washed up. Can Rose turn it around in New York? I'm not confident, but it's not like New York took a huge risk to find out. -

It's more of a "who cares?" trade for me. I'd put the Bulls slightly ahead for now.like_that;1801262 wrote:They both lose imo. -
wildcats20Rumors floating around that Thon Maker is not really 19 and that he could be 21-23 and maybe as old as 24.

Rafael Furcal and Miguel Tejada approve of this story though. -

I also wouldn't mind the Cavs buying a 2nd round pick and drafting the guy.wildcats20;1801312 wrote:Rumors floating around that Thon Maker is not really 19 and that he could be 21-23 and maybe as old as 24. -

Thon is about the only player I've seen highlight films of. Seems like a good project to have in the D-league for a few years.Ironman92;1801320 wrote:Hmm -
Ironman92Worries about Ingram's weight? He's insanely thin but he's also 18 for two more months. At worst I feel he'll fill out to at least Durant-like.
