The Indians head to Minnesota for a 3 game set.....
Salazar(2-1, 1.47) will take the hill tonight vs. Milone(0-1, 5.87). Cody Anderson and Josh Tomlin are slated to pitch the 2nd and 3rd games.

    Go Tribe!

Carlos Carrasco is headed for the DL...results of MRI are pending. Bauer is expected to move into the rotation.

I'd prefer they bring someone up and keep Bauer in the pen, but it is what it is...GO TRIBE!!!

I expect another sweep. Pitching sucks and our bats have gone silent.

Salazar has looked very sharp. I'm excited to see what type of year he can have.

update on Cookie....out 4-6 weeks(plus rehab) with a left hamstring strain.

Brantley activated and took his spot on the roster.

Indians can survive this, if they can keep scoring. But they can't afford anymore pitching injuries. Carrasco was my pick for CYA, so I'll take full blame here... :(

Nothing going the Tribes way tonight. Still a chance to win. Down 3-2 in the 6th.

Yan Gomes ties it with an 8th inning dinger......., only to lose it on a bottom of the 9th walk off HR.
Zac Mac served up the meatball. :(

That 5th inning was horrible. Not impressed with the way Salazar handled that. First, Frankie boots a somewhat routine grounder (scored a hit but he made 7 plays last night alone tougher). Then, he picks the guy off. Ruled safe. Review couldn't overturn. I think he was out but it was tough to see for sure. Then a foul pop down the line. Byrd had room but alligator armed it going into the wall.

Right then, I want to see the guy bear down. Salazar wasn't demonstrated in his demeanor but you could tell he was deflated a bit. Nunez battled him hard and he eventually walked him. Then...a wild pitch and I thought he really gave in to Dozier. I understand Mauer is on deck but it almost looked like he was done battling and said, "here...hit it at somebody" and Dozier doubled down the line. He threw about 15 pitches after the pick off and you could tell he frustrated that the inning wasn't over.

Yeah, that seems to be his Achilles heel.....he just loses it when the ball bounces the wrong way a few times. That may be the final piece that makes Salazar a great pitcher....bearing down when the going gets tough, and the mental toughness to stay focused in adversity. That is what has made a huge difference in Josh Tomlin's game, and Tomlin doesn't have half the stuff Danny has.

I agree. But man if Salazar can get that mental toughness he could be a Cy young type guy.

Hopefully Anderson doesn't stink again tonight

This is the type of game Anderson will dominate and give everyone more false hope for him.

I want to be wrong on the guy, but I have yet to be impressed. I do expect like 7IP and 1-2 runs allowed tonight, though.

He's not off to a stellar start...

Minnie up 3-2 in the 5th.
Kip and Uribe with solo shots.
  • Laley23
I blame Heretic, who came to Cody Andersons defense before the season when I said he was terrible. Lol
  • iclfan2
He throws it right down the freaking middle.

Ugh, Anderson gives up the go ahead dinger in the fifth... Now 5-4 Minnie.
