Someone needs to write a book on the phenomenon of bullpen pitchers just losing it.

Its not just the tribe. Relievers all over MLB just lose it after years of dominance

I get what you're saying, but I only care about the Indians' woes--and Allen's in particular.

smartest thing you've said in a while...btw, saw Roni Pinciotti over the weekend--she said to say hello

This has been a bad year for formerly solid relievers. For you, both Shaw and Allen have been terrible; for the Reds, their entire pen has been a big joke and for the Pirates, Watson has been more vulnerable and Melancon tried to give away Sunday's game but Arizona's bullpen was just as bad down the stretch.

Overpaid pitchers who aren't good enough to be starters.

Cody Anderson sent to minors. Will pitch with a 4-man rotation for next 10 days due to off days. Then they will need to make a move. Clevinger?

I said it before and I'll say it again...Tomlin is NOT a starter. Period.
  • BRF
Big rally going on in the 5th!
  • HitsRus
After a rocky first inning, Tomlin has settled down nicely ... Tribe leads 6-3 in the 5th.

    I respectfully disagree.

I'm with you on that. Tomlin is a great 5th starter

    great??? lol
As a 5th starter he is one of the better ones in the league. He might not have the best stuff but he keeps you in games which is what you want with your 5th starter. He will have an era around 4 which is excellent as a 5th starter

You can tell her hello from me, but I worked there for 4 years and probably saw her like 40 times total. She probably knew me by the end, but I had many interactions where I was called 1 of 4 names, none of which were mine lol. I wasnt an office person. I went to my event, directed it, and went home. Only times I really saw here were when I had to go to office for something, or a random Directors Meeting she would pop in for.

This, and I think he end up with an ERA under 4 (not saying you arent saying that).

like your optimism, and hope you're right...not holding my breath though

Since his return from injury last star (about half a season), he is:

    10-2
3.05 ERA (estimate, 3.03 last year 3.18 this year)
    68 Ks
    10 BBs
    Whip under 1.00

Now the advanced stats say he is a little lucky, but still good and effective. If he can do this till the ASG, that's a seasons with of starts, and I'd be comfortable saying that is pretty close to who he is.
