What was the score and how deep were they when he fumbled? Thanks
    It was Touissant.
I believe it was 13-12 when it happened.

Thanks....not as bad as I imagined. Sucks, but oh well.

Was Denver's defense a lot better than Pittsburgh's today?

    Fuck Pittsburgh and their fans.

That offense was terrible. Manning got it back for that one 31 yard pass though. As it has been all year, Denver's going to have to win with defense. I don't see it happening.

Pittsburgh's defense played well considering they were put in shitty field position a couple times thanks to some bad punts. They were also bailed out by Denver's receivers dropping several passes, too. Neither offense played that great. That fumble killed them. Pittsburgh was driving into Denver territory with the lead with like 5-6 minutes left. Momentum completely changed after that.

I think the superbowl is the NFC's to lose.

Not by my eye test. I checked the stats and not by that either:

    offensive yds: P 396/324
    1st downs D 19/16
    mins possession D 31.5/28.5
both teams had 37 pass attempts, but Den ran a dozen more plays. Pit had 3 sacks to Den one. Just the one TO and the teams were 8/8 on FG.
I think the Steelers defense got tired on the last drive and weren't able to stop the run enough to stop the drive. Last five plays of Den drive(13 plays) for the TD were runs.

Looks like Carolina then the other 3 to me

There was only 5-6 min left when they fumbled with the lead and driving?

Probably it was more. I can't remember.

Agreed. Denver's offense needs to step it up, otherwise they're least likely to win IMO. I wouldn't be surprised with any of the other three winning it, though.

Also, for the love of God I hope Manning retires after this season.

    10 minutes left:
2-4-DEN34 (10:00) (No Huddle, Shotgun) F.Toussaint left tackle to DEN 31 for 3 yards (B.Roby). FUMBLES (B.Roby), RECOVERED by DEN-D.Ware at DEN 35. D.Ware to DEN 35 for no gain (C.Wallace).
    Denver Broncos at 09:52
    1-10-DEN35 (9:52) C.Anderson left guard to DEN 37 for 2 yards (L.Timmons).

    ^^ My mistake.

Both suck, 6 min would be tougher though.

Anyone wanting Manning to win it all before riding off into the sunset (and not because you hate Brady/Pats)

I hate that his brother has more but I just want the best team to win and at least for now I don't feel that is them.

Only if he has a vintage game. I don't want the Broncos to win 17-13 with Peyton going for 172 yards and 2 picks.

I wouldn't mind either NFC team winning.

Yeah, if him being savvy and making some big throws is good enough then I'll be happy for him for sure.

Sure! They had an innovative play today when Manning was doing his pre-snap antics I love to watch, he stepped to the left side and he was motioning demonstratively to the wide receivers on that side and when he was in the height of his motioning, they direct snapped it to the RB, but he didn't get started and was nailed for a 3 yd loss.

Watched highlights....after that Touissant fumble Pittsburgh had them in 3rd and 12 with 8:15 left. Manning snuck one in there to a lesser known receiver and Pittsburgh had pretty good coverage. Steelers have had trouble allowing 3rd and long all year. That bothers me as much as the fumble.
  • Laley23
Denver was like 1/16 on 3rd downs. Yes, it's because the offense struggled. BUT, that ain't gonna happen again. Even completing 4 more of those, they look a lot better than they did. I expect a very close game next week, and a big break in the 4th might be enough for Denver.

Can you say conspiracy theory? Peyton's final season, the NFL is going to make sure he gets to the Super Bowl.

How can you not watch your team in a playoff game?

Pittsburgh's offense was 90% short passes and for some reason denver still wanted to play 10 yards off every WR. I think there were about 3 30-40+ yard plays for pittsburgh because the denver CBs gave the WRs about 10 yards of room to make a play.

I thought Greg Little somehow managed to get into a Broncos jersey and play the WR position. If they make half their catches, I think the Broncos win a bit more comfortably. Probably by 13-16 points instead of 10. Broncos did everything they could to give the Steelers a chance, and the steelers fucked up with the fumble. It was one of those games where the first mistake was going to lose it, and the Steelers made the mistake.

If the Bronco want to win next week, their pass rush is going to need to do a much better job than last night.

Nah....unless the calls in the 4th are like the 2006 matchup, then I would play the conspiracy game.

I wasn't home. I coach my son's travel basketball team and our travel league game was at 4:30 40 miles away. By the time we finished game and sat down for dinner out...didn't get home until it was 23-13 when I turned the tv on. I missed the 2nd Bengals matchup and Ravens game as well due to same reason.

Family first, that's fair. I would tell the league fuck you for scheduling games during the playoffs.
