Guilt by association with Ole Miss.

    Fair.

Thank goodness, looks like DEN is going to make the awful decision of drafting Lynch before the Browns can.

    Connor Cook at 32?

No QB should be taken by Browns until 4th AT LEAST or not until next year.
  • Laley23
I you don't trade out of the 2 slot with Wentz there to then just waste #32 on a QB. If you wanted a QB this draft, you take him at 2 and be done with it.

Agree. The QB pick is Deshaun Watson next year.

Reggie Ragland at 32 if still available?

If Jack is there at 32, he'd be my pick.
  • Mulva
Hoping we go defense at 32. Give me any of Jack, Jarran Reed, Chris Jones, Spence, or Mackensie Alexander (if they're ready to throw in the towel on Gilbert).
  • Laley23
Spence or Jack. At some point, you gotta pull the trigger on a talent like Jack. Best case, someone like Dallas swaps picks for Jack and gives you another pick.

And this is where the 3 day draft helps the Browns. A full day to put out feelers for this pick.

    Or Billings.

Cleveland Browns: Corey Coleman | Grade: A
(Pick acquired in trade with Tennessee Titans)

Our top receiver is off the board as Corey Coleman goes to Cleveland. He’s dynamic both before and after the catch, capable of separating as well as any receiver in the draft and then taking it to the house after he catches it. Coleman posted a ridiculous 4.88 yards per route (best in the nation) before a poor quarterback situation hurt his production. His 10 drops are cause for some concern, but not nearly enough to offset what he brings to the table as both a short and deep threat. Even with his limited experience running a number of routes in Baylor’s offense, Coleman has all of the skills to separate on any type of route once he transitions to the NFL.

[h=3]Analysis[/h] [h=4]Strengths[/h] Instant blur off the snap. Feet turn over at a blinding pace and he devours cushion before cornerbacks know what hit them. Able to get over the top of every corner he faced and demands safety help over the top. Works back to the ball. Explosive leaper with ability to climb ladder and win the 50/50 ball and body control to secure the acrobatic catch. Touchdown maker finishing 2015 with 20 receiving touchdowns. Smooth, speedy stems to the post will be difficult to mirror and match for NFL cornerbacks. Easy route adjustments in space. Defenders who try to jam and miss pay the iron price (touchdowns). Able to make tacklers miss in tight spaces. Has experience as ball carrier and punt returner. Heavily targeted (39 percent) in Baylor's high*-flying attack.

[h=4]Sources Tell Us[/h] "He's my top receiver. Now this is for what we do so he's going to be tops for me. He can do a lot of things and I'm not worried about those simple routes because he's got some gifts to work with. Like him a lot more than (Laquon) Treadwell or the Notre Dame guy (Will Fuller)" -- AFC wide receivers coach

[h=4]Bottom Line[/h] Dangerous vertical talent with the ability to get over the top of defenders who fail to recognize his blazing quickness off the line of scrimmage. Coleman can get instant separation to create favorable passing windows and is one of the top playmakers in this draft. Coleman's issues with drops near the middle of the field could be a concern if teams see him next as a slot receiver due to his lack of size. Regardless, he can line up outside and win and he offers immediate punt return help.

    Sounds good to me.

I don't think Coleman will have a problem learning routes. The guy can change directions very very quick. Shouldn't be a problem for him.

    Odell Beckham is 5'10-11"

"Agreed" - Ted Ginn, Cordarelle, DHB, and Devin Hester

See I think Will Fuller compares more to those guys. However, Coleman seems like a boom or bust player that is NOT going to be good right away. Maybe like Nelson Agholor was last year...and he largely disappointed. However, wouldn't write him off yet and the Browns don't really care if he stinks for the first few years either.
  • Mulva
Definitely not writing anyone off, but there's more to route running than quick twitch muscles. If it was that simple then it wouldn't currently be a concern for him. But there's obviously plenty of ways to get creative (see: Rams with Tavon Austin last year).

I can't believe the Vikes got Treadwell to go with Bridgewater.....Anybody want to double down on the second guessing?

True, but in hindsight, if you knew a guy would become Tavon Austin (great gadget player, great speed, but never likely going to be a reliable, week to week WR), you don't draft him as high as the Rams did. Austin is also a bit exaggerated in numbers because the Rams had no options. Put him on a legit passing team with a #1 WR, and he's just another option. Look at guys like JJ Nelson, if he was a #2 or 3 WR option, he could be Austin.

With that said, WR in this draft was largely preference. It's not like the Browns passed up a sure-fire #1 WR to get Coleman.

Beckham ran actual routes in college. Route running is the bigger concern, i'm just saying that you don't see many deep threats of that size.

My picks at 32 are Dodd, Spence, or Ogbah.

But you weren't screaming from the rooftops to take beckham. Because WR's are crapshoots. No one knows who the good ones and bad ones are going to be.

Browns felt Coleman was the best so they took him. Now we wait and see if he's good.

Criticizing the Browns for this pick is so beyond retarded. Like someone just said, there wasn't a Julio Jones available at 2 that they passed on. They took their choice of top WR.
  • HitsRus
A lot of people thought/think Coleman the best WR in the draft, and the only thing that gnaws at me is that we have been undersized at that position for so long. Still a lot of picks to come thanks to the trade downs, and plenty of opportunities to grab some pretty good players today.
  • Crimson streak
He'll maybe he can run other routes but just wasn't asked to do it at Baylor? The Browns obviously saw something in the work outs and such to take him over the other receivers. It might not be that he can't run those runs, just that he was never asked to. As for the pick at 32 give me spence. We need a pass rusher

For 32, I'm for any defensive position or O-Line.

I'm for anything other than QB or RB. I don't want to touch a QB at all until 6th round at the earliest. I also don't really care about the RB position in the NFL anymore. I want a good line, a good QB and good WR/TE.
