Week 6: Browns vs. Broncos

And my biggest "beef" with Gordon is that he's a frigging idiot. I don't care if he smokes weed, when he's no longer on the team I root for, but it's not cool when you are. I'm ALL for legalizing & taxing the shit out of people for it. He's just a fool.

His continued abuse of alcohol sickens me.

Regardless of the spat on this thread....I'm rooting for Gordon to stay clean and perform at a high level. He was a fun watch as long he's not killing my team.

Also....you guys are very knowledgable about everyone's off the field happenings, not sure I knew 1/2 of the ones mentioned on this thread (at least to any detail)

As far as the game goes, I do expect McCown to regress back to the mean this week as he's been playing lights out over the last two weeks. I'm skeptical that Barnidge is going to be able to run free like he has been most of the year and Benjamin will have his work cut out for him trying to get open against that secondary.

It may sound odd but (physically) I give the QB "edge" to the Browns this week. Manning is winning with guile and his brain. His physical skills are pretty much shot as he can no longer take the top off of defenses and has to settle for the underneath/dink & dunk stuff. If the Browns can take this away, the game should be pretty interesting.

This will also be a battle of shitty rushing attacks (Denver) vs shitty run defenses (Browns). I have a feeling the Donks could cure their "ills" on Sunday.

Offensively, for the Browns, it's all going to be on how well the O-Line protects McCown. McCown & Pettine have recently eluded to the fact that this team is now "pass first" and use the pass to set up the run.

For Denver, defensively, the Browns will have to keep an eye on TJ Ward. In hindsight, they made a mistake letting him walking in that he's playing at a Pro Bowl level and Whitner looks like he's done. Of course, hindsight's 20/20.

I think Denver will take this but, if the Browns can do anything offensively, they have a shot because Manning (6 TD's/7 INT's) likely isn't going to light them up.

My informed guesstimate is McCown will completely outplay Peyton Manning and go on to win the starting QB spot in the Pro Bowl.

Informal poll: is anyone surprised that the non-Cleveland fan (Iqqy) is rooting for us to lose? If you're into truly hopeless sacks of shit, I recommend taking a gander at his most recent posts.

If the Browns ever won the SB, I hope IQQY doesn't disappear. It would be hilarious to see what he could come up with. Even the Browns haters on this site would like to see that.

Not just that, but he's upset that your fans are happy because they won a game. Even though it was against the Ravens and you'd think no one even remotely affiliated with the Browns would be upset about beating them.

Just one more example of how his act got ruined because he tries too hard.

I'm the only one in this town that wants to win anything, and has the courage to stand up and say that this isn't working and is only prolonging the inevitable failure that I can assure you is coming.

If you misconstrue my loyal devotion to the Browns as an act than I don't know what to tell you.

We are a minimum of 5-7 years from SB contention.

Pettine won't get fired now until the end of next year, and then it will take the next regime at least 3-4 years to build their own roster that might possibly be able to compete. We don't know yet.

We still will have to find a QB who won't get buried on the bench behind an aging vet further prolonging the future, but given the history with this organization that seems to be a sure bet for whoever the next regime is.

This is as hopeless as the outlook has been for Browns fans in quite some time.

Here's a simple argument that even someone as delusional as iqqy can understand.

    1. The Browns and Ravens are rivals.
    2. The Browns beat the Ravens.
    3. Browns fans are happy the Browns beat their rivals.
    4. Iqqy is not happy
Conclusion: Iqqy is not a Cleveland fan.

So non-Cleveland fan iqqy, everything you say "defending yourself" is quite contrary to the overwhelming evidence of your lack of Cleveland fandom. In fact, the overwhelming evidence supports the conclusion that you hate Cleveland teams as much as tearnan.

Well, if the week after they beat Baltimore is one of the hardest weeks as a fan that he can remember, the most logical explanation is that after Cleveland moved to Baltimore, he transferred his fandom and, therefore, is crushed.

Given his hatred of everything Cleveland, this explanation makes the most sense. Reps if I didn't have to spread them around first.

I don't ask alot as a Browns fan. All I want is to be able to turn my radio on and not be bombarded with idiocy and delusion.

Many of the fans in this city are the types that would look past the fact they got an STD and just be happy they had sex for the first time.

Every win at this point just prolongs the Pettine/Farmer regime and that should be intolerable to all Browns fans because we know how that song and dance ends.

No one likes to see their team lose. If it is working towards a greater good though (and getting rid of the gruesome twosome certainly falls in that category) then it is totally worth it.

Lets cut him already. We don't need the drama and we have our QB of the future.

I feel bad for Johnny. Coming to this town ruined his life. Certainly isn't the first and definitely won't be the last.
  • IggyPride00
This freaking sucks. That piece of shit McCown is now firmly entrenched for the remainder of his contract and Johnny is going to be gone. I am just not sure how many more years of unwatchable football I can handle without having a breakdown.

If Johnny wasn't a complete idiot, he would have had the starting job. He continually does stupid things, and gives others the chance to play.

I'd rather see the Browns win the Super Bowl than to have to read IGGY posts. Love the block function even though I only use it for 3 posters.

No he wouldn't. He's a mediocre QB at best and can't even beat out has-been Josh McCown for the starting role. I think people are delusional that just because he had his time in the sun in college means he's going to be some all-pro QB in the NFL. Reality check; he sucks and everyone besides delusional Browns fans know it.

yeah ever since iqqy made clear he's not actually a Cleveland fan, he hasn't made a single worthwhile post*. All of them are garbage cries for attention, so you're smart for blocking him.

This is not intended to imply that Iqqy made a single worthwhile post before he made his "rooting against Cleveland" allegiances known, just stating that he hasn't made one post-admission.
