Browns vs Jets

i'm just glad the front office for the browns is set on turning this franchise around. they drafted intelligently for the first time in forever.

i think mccown will bring the browns back next week and get them on a winning track. he's definitely top-10 in the league, probably between nick foles and ryan fitzpatrick

We don't need them. We are built to run the ball and play defense.

Biggest bill of goods ever sold to this city.

    Awesome.....11th straight opening season loss.

Will today be the day we see Mike Pettine actually get mad and look upset after a loss?

Manziel was hardly the reason for this blowout loss. 35 penalites, a non existant defense and ...count em...4 more dropped passes thrown by
Manziel. 2 runs by Manziel totalling 45 yards were called back because of holding penalties. We have 4 tight ends and none of them belong in the NFL. If they catch the ball Manziel's rating would have been in the high nineties. So go fuck yourself,, Johnny basher.

I might have missed it but did someone say Manziel was the reason for the loss?

Manziel is still a below average NFL QB no matter how good or bad the team is around him.

Manziel's arm strength is poor, seems like the ball hangs in the air forever on out routes when he throws them.
  • IggyPride00
Reports are Pettine didn't seem to be that bothered at the post game presser. More of his flat lining bullshit.

If today wasn't enough to get him upset then he isn't invested enough in this team and it's time to go.

With all that time to prepare to come out and lay an egg like that he should have blown a gasket.

    So who starts next week)

    Let's ask iggy
  • IggyPride00
Terrance West has 5 carries for 22 yards and he doesn't even know the playbook.

    Great return on investment Ray.

Spelling is hard. And they had 12 penalties. But you weren't off by much!

Titans are looking like a real pushover heading into next week as they invade Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Plus those are low stress games. I hardly yelled at all watch Tom pick apart my team.

Apparently, if you are critical of Johnny's performance, you're part of the "6 quarter club" and an idiot. But it's okay to be over-the-top praising him if he comes in and does something right. Just gloss over all the turnovers. Little things like that don't matter.

What we need here is Belly's influence on our Browns.....and Indians, too.

    I am on it.
  • HitsRus
This team looked unprepared to play. I am trying hard not to overreact....but we got our ass handed to us by a mediocre team.

Read this on reddit, I agree to an extent:

    First downs:

    • Browns - 15
    • Jets - 18
    3rd down conversions
    • Browns - 8/16
    • Jets - 7/13
    Total yardage
    • Browns - 321
    • Jets - 333
    Time of possession:
    • Browns - 31:40
    • Jets - 28:20
The moral of this story? Fix the two big problems with this game - penalties and turnovers - and it would be competitive. Nobody wins giving up 100 yards of penalties and being -5 on turnover margin. The team's not as bad as everybody is saying. Yes there are things to fix, but they're fixable.

That's been people's mantra since the return, and it is never true.

This team is bad. The defense is still abysmal and we can't run the ball. That is not going to change, because the personnel just isn't there.

Not to mention we are so outgunned by the rest of the NFL when it comes to coaching it's not even funny.

Mike Pettine has this cult following among many Browns fans I don't understand. The team is consistently unprepared to play football and in game adjustments are non-existent.

To come out that unprepared against a depleted Jets team when you had months to prepare screams red alert as far as I'm concerned.

Browns left a lot of points on the field in the first half...you are spot on with this.

Yup, should've been up 17-7 at the worst.

That game sucked and I have a feeling this season could be bad.

Whoever predicted 3 wins was being optimistic. This team is terrible and Manziel is a joke. I'll be happy with 3 wins at this point.

Johnny bashers can keep pounding their puds. Weekly basher Bud Shaw's article had me ROTFLMAO. From Shaw's article in the PD today.

"Manziel looked like he might be an OK backup if he learns to detect pressure. Twice he ran into sacks and lost the ball. He threw his first TD pass, a 54 yarder to Benjamin and missed his second when he led Hawkins a step too far in the corner of the end zone."

First of all, Manziel did not "run into a sack" on his second fumble...he was strip sacked because, Joe Thomas, the biggest fraud in the NFL failed to protect the backside. Secondly, only a fuggin buffoon would blame Manziel on his perfect pass to Hawkins who apparently doesn't know the NFL rules that you have to drag your second foot. Manziel played exceptionally well in the first half and it should have been 14 all minimum.

But back to Shaw's article. Nary a peep out of him regaeding Manziel's dazzling running nettng him 77 yards on 7 carries. That's 11 yards per carry folks (2 of those runs were called back because of holding penalties away from the ball.)

Sleeper , 3rd Tierman, Fuckstickfromlowerey can all suck 12 inch 1 eyes. Manziel has improvement to do, but the kid has more potential than any Browns q'back since Bernie.

One thing that Johnny was poor at is him not understanding what a "back shoulder throw" is. He threw balls to the front shoulder leading to a pick and a few incompletions. Hartline called him out on it once and rightly so.
