2015 British Open thread

IggyPride00It's early, but the first wave of players is just dominating the course right now.
63 might fall before the day is out if the wind doesn't kick up to try and defend the course a bit. -
IggyPride00David Lingmerth (winner of the Memorial this year) just shot a -7 under 29 on the front side. He made par on the only par 5, but had 8 3s out of 9 holes. Total insanity.

ZWICK 4 PREZ* The Open Championship.
-
IggyPride00Tiger needs to really consider retirement.
He's T-114th out 117 guys out so far at +4. If he can't score this morning I am not sure what hope there is for him right now. -
IggyPride00John Daly has moved to -4 after 10 holes.
It would be really nice to see him get into contention on the weekend somehow. -

Much rather see a guy like David Duval (was -2 until a double bogey at 17) get it going than a clown like Daly.IggyPride00;1741134 wrote:John Daly has moved to -4 after 10 holes.

Uz2Bon36it looks cold as shit there.

IggyPride00It's a shame it looks like Watson won't have anyone around to see him finish. He deserved his moment for that one last ovation as he capped off a tremendous career in this tournament.

That's a crazy thorough article, but it really does summarize everything I've ever heard about Bubba. As a Christian who tries to practice my faith in everything I do it is really upsetting to have guys like that who preach about their faith so publicly but then act like total asses so often.lhslep134;1741360 wrote:Neither do I. Classyposter58Haha that was great a few minutes ago. Schwartzel went to read his putt and it kept blowing on the green, so he went to read the new line and it blew again.
Not sure if anyone on here has played in 30+ mph wind but it's essentially unplayable. They have sustained winds of 35 right now out there with gale force gusts -

I've played in 100mph winds and shot 62.Classyposter58;1741386 wrote:Haha that was great a few minutes ago. Schwartzel went to read his putt and it kept blowing on the green, so he went to read the new line and it blew again.

Ironman92Bummed when I got up this morning it wasn't on.

bases_loadedWas supposed to play with Fluff on Monday in Canada. This weather delay along with Furyk making the cut dicks me over.

I'm sure the course was as challenging as St. Andrews too.DeyDurkie5;1741391 wrote:I've played in 100mph winds and shot 62. -
Ironman92I picked Rose again. Can Spieth make a big move on Sunday? Fowler again has put himself in position but will need to match it again tomorrow. But hopefully Dustin Johnson atones for his U.S. Open gaffe. He looks like the guy to beat.
