3.9 yards per carry. Do you have any idea how poor that is? It's bad...really bad in fact.thavoice;1702333 wrote:Top 6 rushing. All time. Some things just pretty much make it automatic in getting in the HoF.
All other things equal, Pete Rose would be in the HoF, being the hit king and all. He was a pure singles guy. Only hit .303 in his career and isl ike 150th in career avg.
If you dont thimk there's a Pittspuke HUOF bias, then you might want to revisit the inductees over the past 3 decades. -
AutomatikPlease fuck off from this thread.
Actually, let's go with this site all together. -

good list but there were plenty more. John Henry Johnson was a lot better...so was Jimmy Taylor. Willie Gallimore much better than Bettis. Could go on. Hell. give me Franco's college teammate, Lydell Mitchell over Bettis. The list is endless. Bobby Mitchell was better when he played running back.Commander of Awesome;1702332 wrote:Pace as well. Pace not being a HoF is terrible. Top 3 LT to ever play the game IMO. Is the bus even Top 20 RB? lolno
RBs better than the Bus:
Jim Brown
Gayle Sayers
Barry Sanders
LT
Eric Dickerson
Earl Campbell
Marshall Faulk
OJ Simpson
Emitt Smith
Walter Peyton
Adrian Peterson
Edgerrin James
Tony Dorsett
Franco Harris
Marcus Allen
Curtis Martin
Preist Holmes
Jamal Lewis
Shaun Alexander
Leroy Kelly
Marion Motley
Marshawn Lynch
Frank Gore
Bo Jackson
LTs better than Pace:
Maybe Walter Jones
Maybe Ogden

HereticGood lord, Foot is spreading his utter idiocy here since he can't in the regular Browns thread. Great. Now, let's watch him harp on one stat for ages while ignoring every last bit of evidence working against him. Such as how that YPG is dropped down a couple notches by things like the one year where the idiot Rams coach essentially let him go to Pittsburgh because he wanted to convert him to FB...or how the end of his career had him being a short-yardage back, so his YPG then was sucky. Or, as said before, top 6 all-time in rushing, which is doubly impressive given that large backs of his ilk tended to have fairly short primes, so just having that long of a career was impressive.
I mean, if you want to say that him getting in before Pace is questionable, I wouldn't disagree. But to say he simply doesn't belong, well, that's just Foot being Foot. HOT TAKES AND NO BRAINS!!!! -

So if your johnny mandel finishes his career as the 6th most yards in NFL history, but his YPC isnt very good, you would keep him out of the HoF?Footwedge;1702462 wrote:3.9 yards per carry. Do you have any idea how poor that is? It's bad...really bad in fact.

Didn't Bo never play more than 10 games in a season though due to baseball? The guy was a fucking beast, avg almost 5.5 yds per carry. I agree he doesn't have the HoF #s or longevity behind him, but I think he's a better player was more of my point. Same with Sayers.Ironman92;1702453 wrote:Bo Jackson played 38 career games and never rushed for a 1,000 or reached 3,000 for his career.....he was fucking awesome and no one like him more than I do, but I can't say he had a better career than Bettis. Similar is Gale Sayers....68 career games 132 in career rushing yards.
I just think you have to play longer than they did...SUCKS those two had career ending injuries.
Charles is in the discussion, but don't think he's HoF material yet. Same with Shady McCoy who I also thought about (and would probably rank higher than Bettis as well).Terry_Tate;1702457 wrote:Doesn't have high career numbers yet but gotta throw Jamaal Charles in there. -

Absolutely. You need be more than a little above average to make the Hall. Jerome Bettis a Hall of Famer? As Mike Dimato form the Nissan dealership would say "are you kiddin me?thavoice;1702567 wrote:So if your johnny mandel finishes his career as the 6th most yards in NFL history, but his YPC isnt very good, you would keep him out of the HoF? -

Good Gawd yall making excuses for his lame 3.9 ypc. You've outdone yourself Lunatic. Jerome Bettis was a volume shooter.Heretic;1702545 wrote:Good lord, Foot is spreading his utter idiocy here since he can't in the regular Browns thread. Great. Pittsburgh fans are so frickin blind and clueless. There are other Steelers that don't belong either. -
Heretic
And you're a fucking idiot who's clueless about virtually every single thing you talk about concerning sports. Go listen to more moronic talk radio to get told your next opinion.Footwedge;1702848 wrote:Good Gawd yall making excuses for his lame 3.9 ypc. You've outdone yourself Lunatic. AutomatikBell will be suspended 3 games, aims to appeal. I'm guessing it gets dropped to 2.

Should stay at 3. I know blount only got one, but he wasnt driving. GUess we have to lookat what other DUI's have received, and then add more for it being an illegal substance. I think he shoulda been gone for 4 games.Automatik;1720207 wrote:Bell will be suspended 3 games, aims to appeal. I'm guessing it gets dropped to 2. -
AutomatikI wonder how this will affect fantasy drafts. Many have him listed as the top pick.
-
Commander of Awesome
He'll still be a top pick IMO. I expect him to come in and have a Gordon like impact (gordon from 2 seasons ago where he came in and pwned). Bell's a stud, sure fire HoFer with an improved Oline and even better WRs to take men out of the box. Prob the best back we've seen in this league since Jim Brown.Automatik;1720246 wrote:I wonder how this will affect fantasy drafts. Many have him listed as the top pick. -

I think he still goes high in the drafts. Pun intended.
Just not many RB's anymore who play all 3 downs and can run it and catch it. -
AutomatikPolamalu retires. Sad day. One of the best to ever do it.
