Browns End of 2014 Season Thread (Iggy-free)

I could see Kyle Shanahan being one and done, landing a head coaching gig somewhere. Manziel would be looking at a second OC in 2 years.

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier but I was absolutely floored when I heard Pettine has decided to stick with Cundiff. I think there are still veterans like Akers & Tynes out there available.
Zoltan Mesko too. Smf at cundiff still being here.

The last few weeks the offense has become very predictable and he has made some stupid fucking calls (i.e. Twice throwing inside the 5 when we have crowell). If a team is dumb enough to hire him then so be it, I just don't see it.

If that were to happen, that would be a good problem to have.
This. His offense is nothing special. A team wants to shurmur him, go for it.

That's about the limit I've reached on cle radio drama bs though. How about we discuss the game, and not off season "potential" drama?

He's the ex-NE punter. Gostkowski has been kicking there a while.

    That's right, I remember now.

What? I'm a Browns fan. I hope that we are getting ready for playoff football in 3 weeks.

That's because he seems to be the definition of a fake-ass fan. He boos his team because they aren't starting the guy he wants, so he figures everyone else will boo the team because they switched to the guy he wants.

    It's really sort of sad.

Would be nice if reports like this came out before he was handed the job. I have much more faith in someone that earns a job, as opposed to someone that is handed the job due to someone else's failure.

Not surprised at all by the article. There has been no evidence of anyone who consistently works with him questioning his work ethic. The only people who have are lame ass cleveland media and the old timers who think its a sin to party on a day off.

Went to high school with Zoltan and while he had a big leg he didn't have the best FG accuracy.

Do some research. His work ethic has only ever been praised by those around him. It would have been beyond moronic for Pettine to play Manziel when Hoyer was actually looking serviceable and winning games. You said it yourself with when reaching to defend Hoyer as much as you can. "You don't take him out when you are winning"

WTF kind of post is this? We won't know if he pans out for years. This is the "looking for instant gratification" type of comment that is going to make sports chatter insufferable for the next 3 weeks after each Johnny pass, possession, game, etc.

Quit taking his post out of context.

I never reached to defend Hoyer. You put Manziel in a game that you are winning, he throws a pick or two and you lose, it would look like a horrible decision by a coach. That's why you don't change QB's in a game you are winning, especially going to such an unknown commodity. Hoyer isn't a good QB, but if the staff deemed Manziel better, he would have been playing. Everybody outside the "Pettine has a hard on for Hoyer" group knows that. Hoyer being so bad, and Manziel not being able to take over until Pettine was basically forced by Hoyer to make the move, should tell everyone something. I hope like hell Manziel tears it up, but people that have doubts about him, have valid reasons. I will eat my crow with a smile on my face if Manziel is a franchise QB.

He never said anything about one or even three games determining Manziel's career. It was a simple statement. Quit trying to make more of it than what it was.

Jesus Christ.....Pick6 hit the nail on the head. I was talking about it equating to wins over the next 3 weeks. It was a POSITIVE post. It wasn't meant to scrutinize him.

People will have plenty of time to nitpick Manziel over his career. I'm just hoping the time he's put in will carry this team to victories in the near term. He's got the offseason and the rest of his career to pick up the rest of the nuances of the game. I'm just hoping for victories, not to scrutinize the kids' every move.

Oh, and Billy Cundiff supposedly has a knee injury?

Br, did you want to look ahead to the 2016 draft after manziels debut? We need answers

WTF's YOUR problem? Are you and lhs inside my head so you know what I'm thinking by looking at a message board post?

Pick6 hit my thoughts right on the head. By saying "I hope it pans out" regarding Manziel's work that he's put in, I meant "I hope it works out to close out the season and they get wins." Somehow, you two twisted it into "if it doesn't work out over the next three games, he's a bust."

These three games aren't going to make or break Manziel's career. If he looks like shit, nobody (except FW) should be surprised because he's a ROOKIE in his FIRST game. If he lights it up I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised. If he sucks in these games you don't give up on him.

But thanks for interpreting my post, NostraDUMBASS.

When you say "I hope it pans out", you're the person creating expectations, not us. That's why I saw it as an unnecessary post, because obviously we all hope he pans out. I kind of just interpreted your post, the contents of which I just said I found to be an assumption, as hoping he pans out in a great and immediate way. Hence my response.

If your expectations are lower than I interpreted, then sorry for attacking.
