Azubuike24Cueto
Bailey
Leake
Cingrani
TBD
They could obviously still move Leake and Cueto too, as they are free agents. -
Azubuike24Nice pickups for Simon. Ratings as of last season.
SS Eugenio Suarez (#12 rated prospect)
P Jonothan Crawford (#4 rated prospect, 2012 first rounder) -

Latos going to #Marlins for DeSclafani and Chad Wallach. -

I think better hitting takes alot of those BP losses out of the picture. Because they couldnt hit themselves outta wet paper bag it kept so many games close and very little margin for error for the BP.Azubuike24;1685160 wrote:The Reds problem last year really wasn't hitting, as bad as it was. Their bullpen lost them at least a dozen games... -
thavoiceGood to move Simon. As great as he stepped up last year I believe this is the best he will ever be for trade value.
Latos is probably a good move as he has been hurt alot.
Now if they get rid of JC as well.....now that isnt a good deal but he will command too much. -
RotinajCueto is amazing please don't trade him....

But what he can command will be outrageous especially if he pitches well again this season -
gport_tennisI dont think Cueto or Bruce will be on the opening day roster, chapman may be gone as well
-
se-alumI would hold on to Cueto until the trade deadline, unless you get some big time prospects for him right now.

Ironman92A really good 5 min read on Poland native/resident John Hirschbeck

IggyPride00Boras did it again.
When he seems boxed in he goes to the Nationals and they bail him out.
This will be just like Werth deal a few years ago that was such a disaster.
The only thing I am really surprised about is that the deal for Scherzer is being reported at only 7 years. No dollars have leaked out yet, but I suspect probably $200 million over 7 years knowing Boras. -
Ironman92Damn....going all in
-
Ironman92Strasburg
Scherzer
Fister
Zimmerman
Gonzalez
Damn -

Laley23Reports are they might have to trade Desmond and or Zimmerman to make the $$$ work.

I'm not sure where reality plays into the conversation for you, so I'm just going to set this here http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/51375/remember-the-bad-jayson-werth-contractIggyPride00;1697823 wrote:

ESPn saying 7/$210 million. That would sound about right as Kershaw is the current highest paid pitcher at $30 million a year. I bet Scherzer wanted to at least tie him in average annual salary.thavoice;1697836 wrote:Reported 180 or so.... -

They were reporting 180 this morning but anyways.....IggyPride00;1697862 wrote:ESPn saying 7/$210 million. That would sound about right as Kershaw is the current highest paid pitcher at $30 million a year. I bet Scherzer wanted to at least tie him in average annual salary.
Way too much money for a guy who plays 35 games. Granted, I mean, granite, a great pitcher can put you in every game he pitches but still....
Reds fans better enjoy cueto....as he isn't going to be around long. -
IggyPride00
It's getting to the point of being almost a $1 million a start. Considering those guys usually go 6-7 innings that is like a $150,000 an inning on a 7 inning start, or $50,000 an out.thavoice;1697866 wrote:They were reporting 180 this morning but anyways.....

That is insane. -
Ironman92I bet they don't trade Zimmerman....if someone goes it'll be Desmond.
-
IggyPride00Strasburg becomes completely unsignable after this deal. Boras is going to be looking to totally break the bank.
-
lhslep134Scherzer's deal is $15M over 14 years
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/max-scherzer-and-when-210-million-isnt-210-million/ -
Laley23Yeah, the Nats made a great move here. Sign him for 7 years playing, but pay for 14 years. Essentially cutting his salary in half. Might hurt having that much money going to nothing at the end, but gives them a pretty sizeable window to win now.
Always thought more teams should do this. -
Classyposter58I will say the Tigers positioned themselves pretty well to let Max go.
Price
Verlander
Sanchez
Simon
Greene
Pretty damn good rotation regardless, combined with a good lineup this should be a playoff team yet again. Hopefully Verlander gets it going again though, if he does then Detroit becomes the AL front runner probably -
RotinajTigers suck. Top 26 team at best.
