According to the Bullshitter and the Fox last week on the Animal House..all the Browns have to do is franchise tag Hoyer at 17 million a year...for 2 years. Yes...they both actually said that. Pay the 20th rated quarterback more than Manning, Brees, Rivers, Rogers, Wilson....LO fuggin L.

Manziel should be traded. He's not a good player.

We don't even know because Pettine refuses to let him play because his personal butt boy Brian Hoyer is too busy stinking up the joint. Some how watching him be last in the league in completion % takes precedent over watching the future of the franchise assume his rightful place as the starting QB on this team.

Manziel is less accurate than Hoyer.

You say this every time someone mentions Manziel. How is it that you know for sure he is less accurate?

    2014 Salary

Johnny Manziel- $420,000 is his base salary, with a 1.0 million dollar signing bonus

Brian Hoyer- $715,000 is his salary with no signing bonus this year.

Hoyer makes just under $300,000 more than Manziel this year.

Watch them throw, Manziel is not a natural thrower of the ball. He throws it as hard as he can and his accuracy suffers because of it. He also doesn't anticipate throws, which you need to do at this level, sight line thrower.

I agree with this. He has to scramble around and play sandlot football until a guy breaks wide open. He's not great at throwing to an area, trusting his receivers.

With Gordon returning, I'd expect Hoyer to light the place up. I have no beef with him and how he throws the football, the only thing that I've noticed negatively about him is that he doesn't run even when there are positive yards to be gained. He scrambles well and there is no lack of mobility, but he always throws and the coverage never has to honor the run.

I don't know that Hoyer will "light the place up" but Gordon's (and hopefully Cameron's) return should open up the running game which will benefit Hoyer in play action, where he thrives. If this team has to rely on Hoyer to win games with his arm, or even (consistently) bring them back from two score deficits, they're screwed. It's not his game. He needs everything to be perfect (good running game to work off play action, defense playing solid, etc) to win games.

D'ya think Jimmy Boy has hired someone to keep the bong away from Gordon 24/7 the rest of the season?
  • IggyPride00
When Tim Tebow completes 50% of his passes, and his biggest plays are weird floaters to wide-open receivers who have to wait on them, he's the worst QB in NFL history. When Hoyer does it, he's gutsy. WTF?
Best Hoyer related comment I have seen today.

    No.
They just hired someone who looks just like him to substitute in for the drug tests.

Aren't you supposed to be a Bengals fan? Didn't you watch your team play on Sunday?

He's basically stole the ball from a Bengals fan after Gresham scored a TD.

ya mean they hired another black guy?

Math quiz for you Einstein....Hoyer completed 55% of his passes at Michigan State over his career. Hoyer has completed 55% of his passes this season. Manziel completed 69% of his passes as a 19 year old and a 20 ear old at A&M. Through deductive reasoning...Manziel will complete how many passes once he plays?

This utter bullshit that Manziel has an inaccurate arm needs to stop.

I'm a proud member of the Manziel Mafia and I am sick of this season being ruined by Kojak's stubbornness and ignorance.

So Hits...you're OK with the 20th rated quarterback in the league. More numbers...he has the WORST completion percentage in the league. And then parlay all of that with the fact that he can't move the sticks with his feet....It all spells loser...no matter how you slice it. As a knowledgeable baseball man....were you OK with Wayne Kirby playing ahead of Manny in 94 and 95 too?

Dangerous Darell Ryder was saying today that the game plan to beat the Browns is a simple one. Load up the box, stop the run, put heat on cement shoes...and voilà...victory. For once in Ryder's life he got it right.

Just love how a 6-4 season, for the BROWNS mind you, is considered ruined by you.

And would be 8-2 with the better quarterback running the team. We wouldn't be talking about the slim chances of sneaking into the playoffs....but instead talking about home field throughout.
