Browns at Bengals

Bengals probably won't be selecting high in the 2015 draft. Do you think Mike Brown would have the sack to trade up to get one of the perceived blue chippers in the upcoming draft? I don't.Terry_Tate;1671807 wrote:I hate the Who Dey as well but it's here to stay no matter how much they suck.
The only real defense I've heard for Dalton is "Who are they going to get that's better?" At this point, how can anyone use that argument? I was fine with the contract and keeping him for this year even though I was sick of him, but now there is no way somebody can defend keeping him as the QB for the next however many years. There is a very clear ceiling with Dalton so why not take a chance on somebody who could be worse since they'll never win shit with him? -
Azubuike24I won't defend Andy for his play this year. There's no solid argument to do so. Whether he was worth the contract though, isn't necessarily the issue. It was the market value to keep your QB (the Browns will have a similar issue if they want to keep Hoyer) and the deal is team-friendly where they can cut him next year and save about 70% of the total contract.

Trading anywhere UP would be completely against the way the entire Marvin Lewis draft era has gone.BR1986FB;1671810 wrote:Bengals probably won't be selecting high in the 2015 draft. And this is why I think Manziel will be taking over in 2015. If Hoyer takes them to the playoffs, he's going to want Dalton or Alex Smith money and I doubt the franchises sees him worth it when they have JFF waiting in the wings.Azubuike24;1671817 wrote:I won't defend Andy for his play this year. SportsAndLadyThink I'm still drunk.
Thoughts:
The three headed rushing attack was great. I know a lot of you are saying play west and crow but Tate brings an experience to the RBs that I think west and crow like.
West ran like fucking AP last night. You always knew he had that burst but he always would dance around too much (still think his dancing cost us the Jacksonville game on that 3rd and inches. We didn't get that and jax came right back down and scored). Last night he didn't dance. It was great.
Hoyer the Destroyer just continues to get the job done, throwing to dray, Gabriel, and barnidge. Think about that for a second.
Can't wait for Hoyer to get Gordon back. And Cameron. Remember last year when Gordon was the second best WR in football? Yeah, we are about to get that back.
Mike Pettine is a fucking boss. He knows what he's doing. And his coaching staff are actually COACHING these guys. Still some minor hiccups (and one major. See:Jacksonville going for that fourth down instead of taking the points..SMH) but he'll get better with more experience.
Last thing: iggy is trolling. I hope laley banned him. We are up 27-3 in Cincinnati on national tv and he's posting nonsense negative posts. It's trolling. That's all it is. Get rid of that loser. -

We will see how Gordon looks, I will be happy if he plays half as good as he did last year for the remaining schedule.SportsAndLady;1671823 wrote:Think I'm still drunk.

Obviously, he'll have a little rust but I've heard he's in "superior game shape" having access to the facility & coaching staff.like_that;1671829 wrote:We will see how Gordon looks, I will be happy if he plays half as good as he did last year for the remaining schedule. -

To add one thing to your comments about the RB's is that one thing I noticed, and REALLY liked, was that the staff is doing their best to keep all of them happy. West did most of the work on that first drive after the Robertson pick and Tate vultured the TD. Next, Crowell gets the second TD. To keep things "balanced" they give the ball to West the next time they are down by the end zone so they all get a TD. May or may not have been done by design but it's a pretty smart way to keep RB's happy.SportsAndLady;1671823 wrote:Think I'm still drunk.

I think Geno was on the sidelines a lot of this game. That being said, when he was on the field I doubt the Browns had McDonald on him one on one. Bengals could've learned a thing or two from that and had a TE helping out their piss poor RT.like_that;1671832 wrote:I am pretty surprised Geno didn't rape McDonald. -

I'd be ecstatic if we could run the ball 40+ times a game every week. Hoyer does a great job managing the game, and if we can attack defenses and wear them out with the ground and pound, there will be plenty of opportunities to blow the lid off the top with Gordon. Hey, it's worked for Alex Smith his entire career... It can work for Hoyer.BR1986FB;1671831 wrote:To add one thing to your comments about the RB's is that one thing I noticed, and REALLY liked, was that the staff is doing their best to keep all of them happy. I agree completely. The teams that can run in the AFC North are typically going to fare pretty well later in the season. Hoyer is only going to look better when Gordon & Cameron are back and if they've solved this running issue. Hoyer isn't a guy who is going to beat you with 400 yards & 4 TD's but the play action will allow him to take his shots. And if the defense keeps improving, things could get real good.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1671835 wrote:I'd be ecstatic if we could run the ball 40+ times a game every week. I'm a "ground and pound" type of guy so I love this. As long as they are scoring points and playing good defense, I see no need for "style points" in winning. It may not look "pretty" but, to me, nothing about a win is "ugly." -
BR1986FBFrom our old buddy Wes Mantooth (off my Facebook feed)...
Interesting stat of the day: Johnny Manziel was worth more fantasy points last night (0) than Andy Dalton (-1.76). -

To this point in the season...
The top 3 rushers weren't on the roster last year (on pace for 1800+ yards and 21 TDs combined)
The top 3 receivers weren't on the roster last year. Obviously that's partially Gordon being out, but he still only accounts for 1 spot.
The 2 leading tacklers weren't on the roster last year. Dansby in particular has been awesome. -

thavoiceHow is that Dalton contract looking now??@??@ I thought that he was going to progress and get better and earn that contract (and he still might) but no longer do I believe that is going to happen.
Browns.......they are for real. I doubt they can catch NE or Denver and get a top 2 seed for the playoffs but it could come down to their AFC records as a tiebreaker. -

Keep trying. It hasn't been working this year but I do think that that Pittsburgh will remove the Steel Curtain Era memorabilia from their facility and replace it with busts of Roethlisberger & Todd Haley after the season they're having.thavoice;1671859 wrote: Browns.......they are for real.
