I watch games every night, I've seen the Rockets play at least half a dozen times this year.

    These aren't compatible statements.

Yes they are, if you actually watch him/them play. I'm not arguing about this, he's a poor defender, despite what stats say.

Ahh there's the rob we know and love.

"If you actually watch them like I do, you would know that the stats lie and I'm right."

I watch the Rockets play. Unlike when you say it, I actually mean that. Which is exactly why I said they're not compatible statements.

So I watch them and make a statement (that Harden no longer is atrocious on D) that the stats also support. You claim to watch them and then make a statement the stats don't even support (that Harden still sucks on D).

I've already told you this 1,000 times regarding the NBA and your claims that you actually watch, but please GTFO with your nonsense.

Edit: I'm disregarding the very real possibility that Rob actually does watch and still makes these incredibly dumb statements. In that scenario, well....lol.

I scored 20 in a scrimmage at Wheelersburg once but 37 in a quarter WOW, that's almost even gooder.

Be real, I'm not the insufferable know it all here. All I do is watch the games and make observations, and Harden is a below average defender, always has been.

You're annoying as hell man, your insistence on being a know it all is damn near sickening. He's not a good defender imo, and you know that's like, my opinion. End of discussion.
  • Laley23
I've only seen a few Rockets games, but he is markedly better on defense. More to the point, he seems to care and is trying this year.

I agree that he is improved, but he still is poor running back and making rotations and playing help D. His on the ball is better but that doesn't tell the whole story.

My "insistence on being a know it all" is based on the fact that you have the DUMBEST fucking opinions about the NBA, 95% of which are completely unfounded yet you justify by saying "I watch the games man".

I probably watch at least double the amount of games you do and even then, I like to use numbers to support my opinions too. So it's not about me being right as much as it about you being incredibly wrong, on a comically stupid level.

I didn't even come close to calling him a good defender you dimwit. I said two things: 1) he's improved and 2) the eye test, as well as the numbers, support the belief that he might even be average.

You said he sucks on D. Based on everything so far this year that's just an ignorant, dumb statement.

You said he sucks on D. Based on everything so far this year; the tape, the numbers, the expert opinions, your statement is stupid.
95% of my opinions are unfounded, name some of my dumb opinions then. Dimwit, well that was clever. I just said he WAS improved but he's still subpar, and I trust my opinion on the game considering I have been playing t consistently for 20 years, as I would expect anyone else to do the same. I don't need to resort to stats to back up my argument because I trust my eyes and judgement when it comes to basketball. Your entire arguments are stat based and you think that it always makes you right, and the majority of the time you have a compelling argument. But the stats don't tell the entire story.

The rest of the team is more like the Raptors, though Parker is a 6x AS.
Duncan is not a marketable star. How many commercials is Duncan in? How many times has he been voted a starter in the ASG? He's a boring player that no one talks about and is not a 'star'.

He's been in the all star game 14 times. Only four players (Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe, Garnett, and Shaq) have more.

Off the top of my head? D Wade top 10 last year. If I spent 30 minutes going through stuff I'd find a lot more.

Your inability/refusal to use reading comprehension is incredible. Re-read this and then tell me my "entire argument is stats based".

I use my eyes (which watch a lot more NBA than you), expert writing, and numbers to support my argument, and you say I use just stats? That's puzzling.

BTW, what do you use to support your arguments? Just...your eyes? Even IF my argument was entirely stats based, it would have more credibility than anything you say.

No I said that Wade was a top 20 player, not top 10. I then backed it up with stats(something you do all the time) and you dismissed it. So stats work when they are in your favor but not when it goes against your argument? I use stats as well and read articles of "experts," but sometimes they don't tell the whole story.

Well, in fairness, none of those stats you used were the one saying he only was playing in about 2/3 of his team's games due to regularly needing time off physically. Which is the sort of thing that should have a big effect on just how highly a player is rated overall.

That's a fair point. When he was on the floor(I think he played 75% of his teams games including the playoffs) he was easily top 20 not ever arguable.

I was answering your original question for you. Duncan was in a foot locker commercial a couple months ago by the way.
  • Laley23
Jesus Chris Sleeper, you are not gonna win the Duncan and "star" argument. The greatest PF in history is a fucking star. Might not be as Greta anymore, and certainly isn't as marketable as before. But when the Spirs won the majority of their championships, it's just ignorant to say he wasn't a star.
  • Laley23
And here are Duncans endorsements. Not on the LBJ/Kobe level...but far from "not marketable"
    Endorsements:
Adidas, American Express, Nike, Energizer (Edge Pro Gel), Bridgestone tires, Gunn Auto, HEB supermarket& Coca-Cola Company (Sprite)
