He did that in game 6 as well but didn't matter then.HitsRus;1668869 wrote:The thing I got out of that replay is the 3B coach never left the coaching box. I would have thought he would have been down the line and waving Gordon around and forcing a throw.
Freaking move -
Crimson streakI would have taken my chances on a bad throw rather than requiring another hit off bumgardner. Should have sent him

TBone14I don't think Gordon was running hard out of the box. He also looked like he was running like Troy Smith in the National Championship game. Once the ball was bobbled by the wall, I was expecting a play at the plate.
Either way...an instant classic. Great game. Bumgardner legend status in this World Series. An incredible postseason. -

Isn't he also the guy who wants to murder the Harbaughs? -
Heretic
I just think he was either really hammered or some exec's incompetent "Tommy Boy-esque" nephew who got the call because, let's face it, he's never going to actually amount to anything in the business world and the family wanted him to have one accomplishment to hang his hat on. I mean, dude started out one step better than full retard and it all went downhill from there.mhs95_06;1668857 wrote:I'm sure they paid handsomely for the privilege, so he had to get the whole spiel in. I think he hurried to get thru it and departed from the script a bit when he used the word "stuff". -
thavoiceIn live speed I didnt think twice about what the third base coach did.
Even in replay I cannot fault him really.
The cut man got the ball before he got to third base. Granted, if he was waving him I think Gordon is at 3rd when the cut man got the ball. The general 'rule' is if it takes good, above avg throws to get the guy....then send him. But if you are counting on a bad, bad throw.....that is just tough to do. You add in the pitcher, there were two outs........and it is tough to send a guy. If he sends him, and he is out, as marty would say, 'from here to there' from just an avg throw, people would wonder why the hell he was sent.
I see where they changed it from a W to a save, which I thought all along it should have been. There are a couple expections that can possibly be made, but Affedlt threw well when he was in there even though it was short but that is when they got the run to take the lead.
Figured you would have to get to him early, like most great starters, but especially a guy coming off short rest. -

He got the ball more than a split second before.SportsAndLady;1668847 wrote:They showed a view that you could see it. Cutoff man got the ball a split second before the runner was at third. He more than likely would have been out lol but still better odds of Perez scoring a runner from third..
BUt i agree...if he was being waved home and still running hard he woulda been right at third when hte cut got the ball. -
SportsAndLadyI wish they would have sent him and he trucked the catcher, called safe, then reviewed and reversed due to crashing into the catcher. Lol

I was thinking that irony as well.......SportsAndLady;1668942 wrote:I wish they would have sent him and he trucked the catcher, called safe, then reviewed and reversed due to crashing into the catcher. Lol
One thing I was not hoping...one of those BS calls to get a guy safe like we say a few times this year. -

Same outcome but that would've ruined my night.SportsAndLady;1668942 wrote:I wish they would have sent him and he trucked the catcher, called safe, then reviewed and reversed due to crashing into the catcher. Lol -
