Was taking the subway home this evening from downtown and the train was packed with drunk bears fans already leaving the bars, that wasn't even an hour after the game started. Lol figured they were getting blown out (phone died so didn't have updates)

    Trestman will be gone soon

Was Lovie Smith that bad? I don't understand why they even got rid of him in the first place, as a Lions fan the Bears always seemed pretty good and won I think 10 games the year he was fired. Just crazy to see how bad the Bears are now, pretty much guarantees the Lions a playoff berth now.

On a sidenote, if the Lions win in Arizona next week are they the best team in the NFC?

Lol at classy. Little guy only seems to make an appearance when things are going well for his teams.

Seattle is still better than Detroit.
  • Midstate01
I literally had no idea that Detroit was 7-2. None.

LOL NO. Dallas, Philly, Seattle, Green Bay are all better than the Lions. And hell even if they do lose I still might say the Cards are better.

Also the Lions aren't guaranteed anything to make the playoffs. I easily see them having 3 more losses. They finish 11-5 and don't win the North they could miss out based on tiebreakers.

Lions aren't a good team. Above average defense and that's about it

Exactly. The west and east will have a say in the wildcard conversation. LOL at having a playoff spot guaranteed with 7 games left to play.

It will be interesting to see who else the Cowboys, Eagles, Seahawks, and Cards lose to. The Lions do have in their favor they are already 5-1 against the NFC. Plus wasn't it last year or 2 years ago the Lions were like 6-1 and failed to make the playoffs LOL?

Lions dominated Green Bay earlier in the year holding them to 238 yards and 7 points. Also having Caldwell and not crazy Schwartz has seemed to make a huge difference

Earlier in the year the Cowboys domianted Seattle and yet I'd say right now they are pretty even. Hell 2 and 3 weeks ago the Cards and Redskins pretty much dominated the Cowboys and yet I definitely think the Cowboys are better than both of those teams.

In the NFL things change from the first 4 weeks to weeks 8-10. I mean just look at the Patriots lol. And now from weeks 11-17 things will change even more.

The only thing that week 3 win means is the Lions currently own the head to head tiebreaker over Green Bay... but when week 17 rolls around and the Lions have to win at Green Bay to win the division/make the playoffs I'll take the Lions to blow it just like they do every other year.

I had to go look it up. Yeah, he was 10-6 his last season.

They had missed the playoffs 5 of the last 6 seasons in Chicago, and they hired a new GM prior to that season.

My fins had Detroit beat yesterday, Clay dropped the damn TD in the end zone that would have put them up 7 instead of 3, changed the game.

Lovie needed fired. The same way Marvin Lewis needs fired.

You might take a step back, and probably wont hire someone as good. But, at some point, the same voice just isnt going to get it done. Whats better, being mediocre and just accepting it because its better than being bad or being bad because you took a chance at being great because mediocre wasnt acceptable?

Funny you say those words, as the article i pulled on on his firing said they would probably take a step back inthe short term........
They were fed up withthe lack of offense in Chicago.

As for firing Lewis......I dont disagree. I know it is a diff sport, but I wonder if the REds woulda taken the next step last season if that would give Mikey Boy Brown the nuts to fire Lewis and get over that hump?

The way this year is going, it's more of a free fall.

Once NFL teams got tape on Cam it was a wrap, can't read a defense.
