Salazar takes the hill for the northerners .

Good and good...Swisher was heating up before he got hurt.
  • Con_Alma
Swisher did have a pretty good home-stand at the plate.

Nobody is tearing it up tonight :(

    Kipnis is.

Tribe's lack of starting pitching rearing ugly head again tonight.

With the exception of Kluber, you are spot on.

Salazar optioned back to Columbus....with these guys bouncing up and down, how do they get comfortable? Do you think that effects their consistency?

No, they still suck. If they really want Salazar as a starter, he needs to spend a lot more time down at AAA. Personally I am not convinced he will ever be a starter. A closer or relief pitcher yes. But more than one time through the order and he gets hammered.

I agree, and I said this exact same thing a couple of threads ago.

If the Tribe were going to make a late run, they needed Salazar and Bauer to have great 2nd halves. It isn't happening. Tomlin hasn't been good. I have remained positive all year but realistically, we don't have the effective arms to put together an extended 7+ game winning streak which we desperately need.

Tomlin is OK as a #5 guy in the rotation.

I'm afraid the front office has 'run up the white flag' even if they are unwilling to admit it publically, and to the team itself. If the Tribe was serious about making a run, it would have turned and packaged the prospects ( or someone like them)received for Druby and Masterson and obtained an established solid pitcher like David Price. Instead, they let the Tigers get him. The Tigers get stronger for a stretch run, while we trade veterans for prospects. Who do they think will lead the charge into postseason?
So we will continue to see them rotate their AAAA pitchers...and they'll win some and lose some. The only thing with any consistency on this team is the bullpen, without that, the Tribe would be a bottom feeder.

Brantley for Homer Bailey and Ludwick

This team is and probably always was a year away from seriously contending. This offseason will be crucial. Maybe they have another Cinderella run in them but they are going to either get some better starting pitching stat or start hitting the cover off the ball.

I guess not. Cueto is too damn good.

Vinnie Pestano has been traded to the Angels.

    I completely forgot about him.
  • Laley23
Got a 23 year old P who is 4-3 at A ball this year. Pestano was dead weight, so good to get a young arm...but little to no expectations for him. Still like the move to dump Vinnie.
  • Con_Alma
Sounds like the Angels are sending to AAA also.
  • HitsRus
... And so the last of the bullpen mafia is jettisoned. Some sadness :(. .... Good memories.

The Tribe is down 4-0 in the 7th...

Bats are afraid. I ask Jobu to come, take fear from bats. I offer him cigar,
    rum. He will come.
