Battle of Ohio ---- Part II Tribe @ Reds

vball10setI know I've been Chicken Little this season, but the sky has definitely fallen...season's over, fellas
-
HitsRus...just heard that Carlos Carrasco is scheduled to start in the Yankee series. I was hoping we were done with that.

They had to break up the mafia in order to relocate the bullpens during the renovation without resistance, obviously.HitsRus;1642307 wrote:... And so the last of the bullpen mafia is jettisoned. Some sadness . .... Good memories.
But seriously, no one gives a shit about the renovation because that money would better be served actually signing guys in contract years instead of trading them for a rosin bag. -
HitsRus^^^Shapiro did say that putting a good product on the field was the most important thing...but really, the renovations are sweet.
-
HitsRus....and it's over...mercifully..... 4-0
5 hits...5 goddamn hits! That's 2 more hits than errors committed (3)
Tribe now leads the majors with 89 errors...9 more than the hapless D'Backs. -
BRFYep. Not looking good.

That's pathetic, especially at this level.HitsRus;1642353 wrote: Tribe now leads the majors with 89 errors...9 more than the hapless D'Backs. -

SportsAndLadyBrantley for votto? Come on I92...

TBone14The renovations are sweet. How much seating do they lose?
As for this year, the fork is out and the fat lady is getting loose. But, this team has shown the ability to be resilient. 6.5 behind the Tigers and 4 back of the WC with 7.5 weeks left isn't quite dead yet. Lost 3 in a row now so they are bound to go to New York and sweep the Yankees. -

Dude he just scares me to death. Make $200,000...cannot slide, crazy bad footwork at first and he is aging terribly. Still hasn't regained anything close to his MVP season from his knee injury and his legs keep breaking down. He's missed a ton of games 2 of the past 3 years....oh and he's been miserable in the postseason as well.SportsAndLady;1642393 wrote:Brantley for votto? Come on I92...
Right now...I'd do it. -
BR1986FBSo I was at the Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland last night and the guy sitting next to me says "there's Mark Shapiro over there at the card table." Not sure if it was him or not but I told the guy "hope he's a better poker player than he is a talent evaluator."

I like Votto too much. I'll give him 1 more year until I'm more critical.Ironman92;1642404 wrote:Dude he just scares me to death. HitsRusFYI Reds fans... No way do you get Brantley for Votto straight up.
-

This. Pipe dream. Brantley is 27 and turning into a bonafide star. Votto is 30 and I92 made some good points above. Plus the whole salary issue.HitsRus;1642415 wrote:FYI Reds fans... No way do you get Brantley for Votto straight up. -

I love him offensively when he's healthy and at first he can scoop out a bad throw with the best of them.....not convinced I'm going to see him average 150 games and a top 5 OPS guy the next 5 seasons....I'd be surprised if I see it twice.Rotinaj;1642411 wrote:I like Votto too much. Next season is critical for Votto. If he doesnt producethis whole thing could get ugly.BR1986FB;1642405 wrote:So I was at the Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland last night and the guy sitting next to me says "there's Mark Shapiro over there at the card table." Wut? My post was random. I wasn't talking about Votto. I was talking about how piss poor of a talent evaluator Shapiro & Antonetti are when it comes to drafting young talent.thavoice;1642446 wrote:Next season is critical for Votto. If he doesnt producethis whole thing could get ugly. -

like_thatEvery time I see Kazmir's stats I get pissed at how they didn't sign him for 2 years with a club option (third year). At the very least get 2 years out of him. They had all the leverage in the world, and they let him walk. What a fucking joke.
-
HitsRusThey spend all that time and effort to rehab a guy and then let him walk ... SMH.
-
HitsRusNeed somebody to get up the Yankees thread
