No but he would be one of the best. What I was saying that if you're saying that he can't guard on the perimeter in the NBA then there is basically no one that can so it's a moot point.KB0938;1636510 wrote:So you're saying craft would be the best defender in the NBA on the perimeter? -
KB0938Eh i think hed be good, but i could think of a handful of guards off the top of my head who id rather have defensively and arent nearly as bad of a trade off offensively. I think hell compete but ultimately end up in a high level European league

Right I'm definitely not talking about offensively lol Strictly defensively. I've said all along that he has an uphill battle do to his deficiencies but he does have an actual NBA skill in defending. He seems to be in the perfect spot as Steve Kerr loves him. Like you said though there is always Europe where he would make a shit ton of money either way.KB0938;1636513 wrote:Eh i think hed be good, but i could think of a handful of guards off the top of my head who id rather have defensively and arent nearly as bad of a trade off offensively. SportsAndLadyCraft ain't playin in no damn NBA
-
sportchamppsI don't think Craft has a chance but he is in the perfect place. I have seen a couple Kerr interviews and he has went out of his way to heap praise on Craft without being prompted. I think his original quote was Craft is a baller. He's said he likes his basketball iq and drive.

wildcats20@sam_amick: Lance Stephenson will sign a 3-year, $27 million deal with Charlotte, I can confirm. Third year team option. @rick_bonnell first.
-
sleeperCraft would be a top 5 defender in the league but he'd be bottom 5 in offensive anything. No way he makes a team.
-
Azubuike24I think Craft could be a niche defender, but automatically top 5? I doubt it. However, it's a specialty league. I can see him latching on somewhere if there's a coach that's infatuated with his one skill. If anything, maybe just having him around to really push around a starting PG who struggles with a very physical and "dirty" defender.

Benny The JetKerr could just be blowing smoke, but from all his comments about Craft he seems to really like him. Warriors don't need him for offense, they have plenty. There have been guys before who are 0 threat offensively and still made a living in the NBA due to their rebounding/defense. Hopefully, Craft could be another.

KB0938Top 5? Id take Beverly, Paul, Iggy, Jimmy Butler and Mike Conley and thats just guards.

KB0938
Thats a big blow for Indiana. Although he was a headcase, he was an excellent all around player for them.wildcats20;1636541 wrote:@sam_amick: Lance Stephenson will sign a 3-year, $27 million deal with Charlotte, I can confirm. Third year team option. @rick_bonnell first. -

Craft is way better than all of these guards. Joke of a list.KB0938;1636622 wrote:Top 5? Id take Beverly, Paul, Iggy, Jimmy Butler and Mike Conley and thats just guards. -

friendfromlowryMaybe that'll be good for the Pacers to get him out of there. Who knows, he could have been a huge reason for their choke job last season.
-
SportsAndLadyCraft a top 5 defender in the NBA right now? There's no way. Top 5 on ball defender okay maybe, but that's still a huge stretch. Top 5 overall defender? Not a fucking chance.
-
robj55
What would differentiate him from being top 5 on ball but not top 5 overall defender in your opinion? He is very good off the ball in help situations, gets hands on balls and take charges.SportsAndLady;1636650 wrote:Craft a top 5 defender in the NBA right now? There's no way. KB0938Hed have to prove he COULD do it to NBA guards, not just B1G 10 opponents and summer league players(I know thats not his fault he hasnt faced them). Then I might be willing to say he could be top 5, but until then ill take the proven guards I listed and their defense over his

I'm sure he wouldn't mind being considered a top 40 right now, as long as he makes a roster. -

Because he can't guard someone over 6'7". To me being a top overall defender is a combination of skills + ability to defend multiple positions.robj55;1636655 wrote:What would differentiate him from being top 5 on ball but not top 5 overall defender in your opinion? Mike Conley may be better, he did go to Ohio State after all.sleeper;1636625 wrote:Craft is way better than all of these guards. Joke of a list. -
Pick6Craft won't be making any team. People need to stop talking about it. I watched him with the Sixers in the Orlando summer league and he was absolutely horrible. I watched part of the GSW/Lakers game last night, and he looked like he has settled some, but nowhere near what he needs to be.

Mike Conley is a top 5 PG but Craft would be a better defender.Terry_Tate;1636718 wrote:Mike Conley may be better, he did go to Ohio State after all.
