    That's a safe 4 hole lead

2 hole lead, if 2nd place birdies one.

I mean with 4 holes left I would feel he'd definitely bring it home...

Ok, misunderstood. I meant he could lose that lead within 2 holes... (Not any specific ones).

Yeah....I knew what you meant but I didn't specify what I meant

Most boring open in a while.

Kaymer has just sucked any potential drama out of the tournament, which was over Friday morning when he posted -10.

The USGA actually got it right if you look at the scoring. Only 5 guys better than +2, so outside of Kaymer scoring is right around par where it always is.

The sucky part has been that there are scoring opportunities out there, but no one has seemingly been able to get anything going.

Kaymer wire to wire. He owned this tournament.

They are going to have to do some watering (unless it rains) before the women's tournament next week because the greens will be downright unplayable. It is getting hard out there and balls are rolling off the green far more than we saw at the beginning of the week.

Ha I didn't watch it all on the weekend. No point when the guy absolutely runs away with it like that

Horrible Open... the USGA can't possibly be happy.

Same as 2000, the course played right around/little over par for most of the field, and one guy was immune to it and fucking destroyed it. Only difference is when it's Tiger people automatically find it less boring.

The USGA will be perfectly content with this result.

Kaymer played out of this world golf. The rest of the field was right where it should have been.
  • wildcats20
Scoring average was just over 73 for the week, +3.

    Good for Eric Compton.

Watch the fallout over the next couple of days... you'll see.

Indeed..I didn't even want to watch yesterday, and that sucked.

It was a bad Open. And I don't want to hear how the course was too tough.. there were just plain bad shots yesterday. None of the kids (Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson... ) have the game make a run at the Open. I'm tired of hearing how deep the tour is now. None of them have it in them. I like Speiths game but he doesnt either. The tour is looking bleak for the future right now. I know you don't find a Tiger and a Nicklaus and Palmer very often, but golf needs one. Everytime someone wins they try to pimp them as the next one, but no one has it.

Christ Zwick I thought you knew something about Golf...the tour today is the most competitive it's ever been from 1 thru 50. Kaymer's win was an anomaly - only 3 times in Open history has anyone ran away from the pack like that.

I'll agree that Kaymer's play was an anomaly, but won't agree how deep the tour is. The tour is certainly different now... you've got a brand of golfers that are so mechanical that 99% will fold under pressure and none know how to save themselves when its happening. You have kids that have had someone looking of their shoulder for 20 years telling them whats wrong with their swing. None of them, outside of Bubba Watson, have any idea what's even wrong when it's going bad. We're in an age were technology is the reason the fields are so deep.

I don't know shit about golf. But the guy in orange looked like a huge douchebag.

Rickies a good guy, but he's way over-hyped. Like every other young golfer.

Didn't DJ almost win it once and Fowler just shot -1 which was better than everyone but two guys. This was a tough US Open and one guy absolutely smashed it. I will say very much like Oosthuizen's British Open win a few years ago where he hammered the field because he got a few days of good weather and ran away
