Probably because you never make birdies. -

It is definitely seems little easier than a traditional US Open, however, sometimes you just have to tip your cap. It's not like the field is throwing up birdies left and right. It is truly just a (formerly, and now he is apparently he is back) great golfer that is absolutely dialed in and he is lapping the field right now. There are only 7 players better than 1 under on their round today. Even par is a good score.ccrunner609;1625899 wrote:this course is to easy. No fun to watch a birdiethon. -
IggyPride00Kaymer just birded 5 to move to -10.
He's only 4 holes from the clubhouse right now. Just as the course is starting to bake out now that the sun is out.
He has an 8 shot lead. -

The suits at the USGA have to be pissed. They pride themselves on preparing the toughest challenge of the season and one their tried and true courses, a staple in the rotation, Pinehurst #2 is getting destroyed by Martin Kaymer. I remember all the talk last year of Merion not being tough enough. Merion held up well but old Pinehurst giving it away right now.IggyPride00;1625920 wrote:Kaymer just birded 5 to move to -10.

Water from last night significantly softened the greens today. Not much the USGA can do about that.
Besides, without Kaymer the leaders would be -2, which is about normal at this point in the tourney.
Kaymer is just doing a Tiger 2000 at Pebble where he is making a tough course look like a pitch and putt. -

True. I touched on that point in my last post. I don't have a problem with it. I just think the USGA is wishing Kaymer wasn't doing this.IggyPride00;1625948 wrote:Rain.

Did it rain during the US Open last year? I know they got a ton of rain for a tropical storm the week before and it was super soft there but I don't remember if it rained during the tourney at al. -
Classyposter58Iggy called it with the low score in the morning. I think the course should still be tough enough to where rain doesn't have this big of an impact but yeah this place isn't that hard at all. That "stuff" they have off the fairways is not hard to hit out of at all. IMO nothing is harder than the thick 4-5" stuff that absolutely snags your club

He'll come back to the pack tomorrow, wait and see.TBone14;1625968 wrote:True. I touched on that point in my last post. I don't have a problem with it. I just think the USGA is wishing Kaymer wasn't doing this. -
IggyPride00Phil's done.
He made 2 quick birdies and was hole high in 2 on the par 5 5th. Hit a crappy chip and had to settle for par, and now he is missing short ones and his momentum is shot.
Too bad, it looked like he was about to get to -3 through 5 and I thought might be on his way to a 65 or so to get into the tournament. -
wildcats20It's going to storm again tonight. So it will be soft early on.

SportsAndLadyLol Chris berman is such a loser

ts1227
He's not nearly as bad as usual for golf (there's really no place for him to insert his typical Berman bullshit), but I still don't get why he's there. Does he just tell ESPN "hey that looks like fun, I want to call it" and they send him? He just appears at random anymoreSportsAndLady;1626065 wrote:Lol Chris berman is such a loser -
GOONx19He's not good in literally any sportscasting scenario. Just annoying.

Ironman92
I thought he was great on the record breaking Cal Ripken Jr game......though it was 19 years ago and he literally said nothing for 12 minutesGOONx19;1626069 wrote:He's not good in literally any sportscasting scenario. Just annoying. -
lhslep134He's kind of like any other personality who's been in the game for too long. Annoying to most, but was very good at one point (Dickie V comes to mind).
-
SportsAndLadyI only said that because of his "send off" to the US Open coverage
Where he basically siad it was the best coverage of the US open in some time...fuck off Berman -
Laley23I bet Kaymer doesn't win.
And how is this course not tough? We have like 15 players under par? -
Ironman92
It's just never a lock unless maybe he has that lead on the back 9 on SundayLaley23;1626137 wrote:I bet Kaymer doesn't win.

Because toughness of a course only depends on one person going crazy for 2 days....Laley23;1626137 wrote:

Exactly. A 3 shot lead at a us open is a 1 hole safety gap.Ironman92;1626140 wrote:It's just never a lock unless maybe he has that lead on the back 9 on Sunday -
TiernanJust bet a friend $20 that Kaymer will maintain the lead and win this. It wasn't ccrunner so I might even get paid should Kaymer comes thru for me.
-
TiernanKaymer drops lead to 4 - it's getting interesting and he's got 3 holes to play.
-
slingshot4ever5 shot lead going in to tomorrow. He has it wrapped up.
-
TiernanHuge birdie on 18 really helped him

I don't think so-I'll say he loses in a playoff.slingshot4ever;1626240 wrote:5 shot lead going in to tomorrow. He has it wrapped up.
