Laley23Jason Kipnis' lack if plate protection with 2 strikes pisses me off a lot lol.
-
HitsRusTribe down 4-1 bottom of 8.
so pissed...Top of the 8 th and zero outs.....Bourn singles, Chiz walks, Brantley singles, Bourn stopping at 3rd. bases loaded.......Kipnis strikes out, Santana striKes out.....Murphy gounds out. SMFH. -
HitsRus...and that's a final

Laley23I think someone should pick up the Sox thread. Ill hit the reset button and start the next thread after our next series loss.
-
like_thatAlright well I didn't want to post when they had their streak (of winning series) going.
We gotta be able to beat our division opponents. No excuse for the 2nd half of the season. -

That was from ESPN before today's game where his average improved even more.Chisenhall is currently hitting .385. He’s 18 plate appearances shy of being eligible for the AL batting lead. He currently is hitting 50 points better than the AL’s batting leader, Alex Rios.
Chisenhall entered this season a career .244 hitter.
For Chisenhall's batting average to dip to .244 in 2014, he’d have to go 0 for his next 93.
That stat about having to go 0-93 to reach his career average blew my mind. Puts into perspective how ridiculous a season he is having so far. -
Laley23I saw that stat on twitter and sent it to my buddy who works at NESN. They do "Around the MLB" and we are texting before the game about Lonnie. He said he finally convinced his producer to do the segment on him since the Trube is coming to Boston. He proceeded to have that game and we looked like geniuses lol.
He ended up using that stat on the show. -
Glory DaysExtremely disappointing to lose both games with piss poor offense to boot.

This is what concerns me more than anything. -
IggyPride00Santana has no business hitting 5th, or even being in the line-up right now.
Same with Giambi.
We are at Mid-June and still have a pair of regulars in the line-up batting .178 & .128 respectively.
That is just completely unacceptable for a team that is trying to compete for a playoff bid. It's like playing with 7 guys, and having those 2 practically guaranteed outs in the line-up just makes it so hard to build and sustain rally's and produce runs.
I would let freaking Kottaras DH before Giambi at this point. I love his leadership, but I am over him as a regular presence in the line-up. He just brings nothing to the table. -
HitsRusi have no problem with Kotteras playing, DHing, or pinch hitting...the guy puts good swings on the ball. I think it is time for Giambi to retire and become a mentor/coach....and Carlos Santana should not be put into an RBI position until he shows he can put the ball in play consistently. Bat him eighth....because that is where the weakest hitter in a lineup is supposed to bat. It was no accident that the offense improved when Swisher and Santana went on the DL.
-
vball10setIt's prolly best we don't have a thread for the Red Sox series...a Druby error (surprise, surprise) leads to a BoSox run in the 2nd. I feel a prolonged losing streak in the immediate future.
-
IggyPride00Why is Chis not in the line-up today? (Don't try and tell me we are sitting a .390 hitter because there is a lefty on the mound!)
Also, what is Tito's obsession with Santana hitting in the 5th spot? Gomes has been a far more productive bat this season, and he should be hitting 5th instead of Santana.
Our 5,6,7 tonight are hitting .177, 208, and .210 respectively on the season.
How do you manufacture runs with 3 majorly struggling bats in a row like that? -
IggyPride00We're on the precipice of falling back below .500 again as we trail Boston 5-2 in the 9th.
Doesn't matter though because Detroit is in absolute free fall right now. They've lost 16 of 22, and Verlander is shot at this point as an ace. His arm is dead.
They aren't going to run away and hide like it looked like when they were 27-12, so I am not feeling so much urgency right now if we lose a few like this. -
HitsRusSwisher and Santana back in the lineup ....the usual results.
I guess Chisenhall needed a day off???? -

Tito fell in love with the lefty/righty stuff.HitsRus;1625714 wrote:Swisher and Santana back in the lineup ....the usual results.

Both Murphy and Chis were out of the line-up because Lester was on the hill if I had to guess.
At this point I would rather take my chances with them hitting lefties than this platoon stuff that puts .200 hitters in the line-up in their place. -
HitsRuscase in point....the 5,6,7 spots in the order were manned by Santana, Raburn, and Swisher....hitting .175, .211, and .206, respectively. They went 1 for 11 with 1 base on balls.....and left 6 on the bases. Why would anybody put that out there night after night? The statistical probability of this group getting 2 hits in a row is 1 out of 30. SMFH.

iclfan2Tito pisses me off with his bullshit matchup theory. Put the best players on the field. Chiz said on the radio today that he didn't want a day off but he doesn't argue. My Boston buddy said game could be delayed for rain tonight
