And my assumption is that since they were both Griffin's final candidates, they share enough of the same approach to work well together.

Jazz beat writer is saying that the team is trying their hand at getting the #1 pick from the Cavs.

#5, #23, Derrick Favors and Alec Burks for #1 and Jarrett Jack.

I see posters on realgm and RCF throwing around the idea that the picks from Utah would then be added in a package for Kevin Love(and Kevin Martin).

Assuming that Tristan and Dion are in the package to Minny...

    Kyrie
    Burks
    Gee
    Love
    Favors

Anyone think this would entice you know who to replace Gee at the 3?

Rumors at this time of the NBA offseason are ridiculous but at the same time, awesome.

Any deal we're working on won't be leaked to media.

Someone posted the same on RCF and said after all the moves listed above we'd still have $26M in cap space. Enough to sign LBJ to the max we can offer plus $6M for any ring chasers that might follow.

I really like Dion and think the potential is there so I'd be disappointed to see him leave. But he and Burks have comparable stats with Burks a slightly better PER and TS% if you look at advanced stats. Doesn't seem like we'd see too much of a drop off while adding assets to try and lure Love/LBJ. Favors signed a 4yr/$49M contract about to start so that's kind of a red flag with the trade. But his defensive ability would compliment Love in the front court pretty well.

Favors isn't a world beater, but he's better than what those on RCF are giving him credit for. I don't see the point in arguing though since, IMO, trade isn't happening (at least in THAT form).

Kevin Love is about the only player worth the #1 pick and that's only if he signs a long term deal with the Cavs. Wiggins will still be the pick I think.

Yeah, I agree. I'm certainly not interested in more picks when some of their more recent ones have been head-scratchers.

Was talking to my friend who plays overseas earlier, he said something crazy like Blatt's team had a high scorer of 9 ppg or so. He saif he is very disciplinary and role oriented, every one on the team contributes in some way or the other, everyone has a role.

Yeah just thought that was interesting, 9 ppg for your highest scorer? Says team in every way.

I mean it's a different game overseas. That obviously won't fly in the NBA. So your post didn't really excite me.

Point remains, as scoring was very even. But I just looked at their stats, 2 players averaged over 11ppg.

Oh no I get that, a lot of stars over there play only 20-25 minutes a game. Will be interesting to see if he can get everyone to buy into the team first concepts though and if he is able to be a disciplinarian like he was.

Alright yeah he wasn't sure he just knew they were extremely balanced and well coached.

If he can't get certain players to buy in, get rid of them.

    Even your best players?

Yep. Anyone who doesn't buy into the system and culture the coach is trying to implement, should be shown the door. You can't win with people not willing to play team ball. These guys are all young and haven't "earned" anything, not even Kyrie.

Interesting point of view. Not saying you're wrong but weird to think a newly hired coach with zero NBA experience would have that type of clout.

Local radio station has interviewed 3 different former players of Blatt, all point guards. They all rave about him and feel his style will translate well to the NBA. He runs an NBA style system, according to them and it's a very point guard driven offense. If Kyrie can't have a breakout year in this system, he probably won't have one.
