Bauer named starter for GM 2 tomorrow. -
Benny The JetKluber's got it working tonight it seems like. Hopefully he can keep the pitch count down and give the bullpen some rest for tomorrow.
-
Laley23I was just going to post that Kluber doesnt have his best stuff, but is making the key pitches to keep the game scoreless.
-
Con_AlmaSD's defense sounds like they are equal to a High School team.
-
Benny The JetHe was doing well early, hitting spots and curve was workin. Not so much now.
And Swisher, it's cool and all that you're proud to be from Ohio and playin for the Indians. But it'd be even cooler if you started being even somewhat productive hitting the baseball -

Amen. I'm hoping he has a .320 year to make me a believer. I was very disappointed in him last year. .246 with 63 RBIs doesn't seem to be an $11 million guy. -
iclfan2Nice homer by Murphy to get a small cushion that they apparently need.

He gave up leadoff hits the first 4 innings, and was behind a few other guys as well. He was getting his breaking stuff to work though, and SD couldnt hit it. 8 Ks is a great number, but he gave up a lot of fastball singles early in the count. Credit to him for going 6 and not giving up a big inning despite not having his best stuff. Thats what we need MaCallister to start doing and our 5th starter as well (since Carrasco will be done soon lol)Benny The Jet;1602757 wrote:He was doing well early, hitting spots and curve was workin. Laley23Pestano...yuck.

Glory Days
yeah he left of where he ended 2013. Our offense is going to have to bail out the pitching staff all year it seems.Laley23;1602816 wrote:Pestano...yuck. -
HitsRusEhhh ....if you remember, the bullpen blew a number of games last year even late into May until they got it straightened out, and Pestano was at the heart of it. Vinnie just jumped to the head of the class at being jettisoned when players come off the DL.
Kind of an interesting game for me last nite. I was at the stadium without ever going into the stands. Parked at the centerfield garage, entered and walked across the left field bridge, and into the Terrace Club where Mrs. Hits and I had dinner and watched the game. We left the same way. Only 9089 people attended yesterday's game.
Trevor Bauer will make a spot start in the 2nd game of today's DH. -

Laley23I think the Pen will be fine.
We have our lefty, 8th and 9th inning guys.
Pestano sucking isnt a worry, because he was being trotted out there this year to see if he had regained anything...he hasnt. So he wont ever be used.
We need to find our Matt Albers, a guy who can give us multiple innings in a close game where the starter doesnt go long, but isnt a late inning (7th) guy. Bryan Shaw can possibly be that, or the 7th inning guy. In essence, I think we are only 1 solid piece away from a solid bullpen (either Joe Smith or Matt Albers needs replaced...the other will be rep;laced by Bryan Shaw).
We were lucky last year having both Shaw and Albers as the middle gap guys in games we mightve been losing, but it was still in reach and they could put up 0s. But, I dont think thats necessary. You only need 1 guy like that, imo. -
Con_AlmaThe umpire got it right. Murphy was out at first.
-
Laley23So, if the umpire called him safe on the force, but then called him out on the tag, is it still a force out before Murphy touches the bag?
-
Con_Alma
He was out on the force no matter what the umpire called and then changed his call to. When a guy's out I really don't care how they get it right. Just get it right. The run shouldn't have scored and the runner was out.Laley23;1603095 wrote:So, if the umpire called him safe on the force, but then called him out on the tag, is it still a force out before Murphy touches the bag? -

You didnt answer my question at all, but thanks.Con_Alma;1603105 wrote:He was out on the force no matter what the umpire called and then changed his call to. When a guy's out I really don't care how they get it right. Just get it right. The run shouldn't have scored and the runner was out.
If a runner is running to first and is tagged, is it considered a force out still? -
Drums of WarDoes anyone know where I can either stream Audio or video? Either is fine, but I cant get the radio to come in here in the office.

Con_Alma
I thought I answered it by saying " I really don't care". I didn't care because the out come was correct in that situation.Laley23;1603113 wrote:You didnt answer my question at all, but thanks.

I'll rephrase it for clarification.
I don't know. -
Laley23
MLB restricts anything being streamed online. But, monthly subscribtion to MLB At Bat is only like $2.99 I think. You get every radio brodacast in the MLB, home and away.Drums of War;1603118 wrote:Does anyone know where I can either stream Audio or video? Thanks. Because if you are no longer forced as a runner when you are tagged, then the run wouldve counted.Con_Alma;1603126 wrote:I thought I answered it by saying " I really don't care". I didn't care because the out come was correct in that situation.

I don't know.
Now, he was out cause the guy hit the base with his foot and I am pretty sure that you are still forced even on a tag. But it would be nice to know for the future.
