Shulman and Kruk? I like Shulman for basketball, but never cared for that duo in baseball. Kruk is entertaining on a set but don't care for his color commentary. Note, I didn't watch last night's game at all so if they weren't the announcers, ignore this post.

They also had SChilling in there for a 3 man booth. Kruk is entertaining and all but he isnt a full time booth guy.

So much for the second wild card. Both races are all but over with a week left in the season. It should make the rotations set for the playoffs interesting though. I'm guessing that neither KC will want to play at Detroit, then open in LA, or Pittsburgh wants to play at San Fran, then open in Washington. That travel back to back can't be fun.

At least Pittsburgh essentially has a two game lead with five to play over the Giants (a one-game lead, plus holding the tiebreaker for home field), so they have a good shot at hosting the Giants. And with the Cards losing last night, still a realistic shot at the division (1.5 games behind now), which would be preferable to having to deal with another one-game "series".

    Yasiel Puig. So good.

That throw was ridiculous....he threw out a very good base runner going from 1st to 3rd and it appeared as if Blanco was assuming no throw (because no way) and was going to round 3rd until he got the uh oh sign to slide.

When you can do stuff like that to players with great instincts...you really have the upper echelon abilities.

It's not even just his power arm. I can't believe how consistently accurate he is. No one ever has to move a glove.

I loved the 3rd base coach just standing there dejected as the throw came in a good 15 feet ahead of the runner lol

Mariners won and used 9 pitchers in 9 innings.....bullpen game.
  • Ironman92
Dumbass David Robertson...how much is he hoping Jeter wins it in the bottom of the 9th?
  • Laley23
    That was fucking awesome.

    Too perfect.

That's as close to an Elway exit you can get.
    Amazing.

Perfectly fucking awesome....and his post game just added to it. He was a nervous wreck all game and his face showed it....didn't matter.

Fake as shit. The pitcher was paid off and gave him a gift to get the worthless game over with.

Probably was mentioned on here somewhere but Phil Hughes was pulled in the 8th inning of a game in a rain delay. He needed 1/3rd of an inning more pitched to earn a $500k bonus. He doesn't have another scheduled start before the season ends.

The Twins told him he can pitch out of the bullpen this weekend to earn his bonus. He declined. Hey Phil.....I'll throw to one batter for ya buddy!

    AL

    East: Rays
    Central: Tigers
    West: Athletics
    Wildcard: Orioles and Royals

    NL
    East: Nationals
    Central: Cardinals
    West: Dodgers
    Wildcard: Padres and Reds
Not bad honestly. If not for the A's collapse I would have had almost every division winner right but 3/5 in both leagues isn't bad at all. Kind of a lol moment when everyone called me delusional for predicting a Tigers four peat. I honestly think this will be one of the best playoffs in recent memory, just an absolute tossup

No one called you delusional for that. We called you delusional for the claim the Tigers clearly had the best rotation in baseball...and we were right. Lol

I still think it's funny that you brag about "three-peating" as not-winning-shit-with-the-best team champion.
  • Ironman92
Very happy for the Royals....it 's good for baseball

Funny how a few years ago a manager was axed late in the season and his replacement choked away a great chance this year.

    The axed manager....Ned Yost
