Classy's Detroit thread

  • like_that
For those who give a fuck about the city of Detroit and their franchises, use this thread to join classlessposter to discuss anything Detroit related. If you see classless discussing Detroit when it is completely irrelevant to the topic, please direct him here. You could also help the little guy off by dumping his quote off here and continuing the discussion. Examples of such posts consist of classless mentioning tori hunter in an NFL thread, or bringing up the red wings in a Browns thread.

If you need help to start a discussing about Detroit, the following topics will be able to kick things off:

-How the 2013 Lions are the greatest 7-9 team in the history of the NFL
-How the 2012 Lions are the greatest 4-12 team in the history of the NFL
-How the 2010 Lions are the greatest 6-10 team in the history of the NFL
-How the 2009 Lions are the greatest 2-14 team in the history of the NFL
-How the 2008 Lions are the greatest 0-16 team in the history of the NFL
-How Stafford and his 1-22 record against teams over .500 is the most clutch QB in NFL history
-How the tigers are the greatest organization ever created by man
-Have you seen that lineup? WOW!!!
-The city of Detroit's great condition

Remember, he is about 17 years old, so be sure to keep the topics to the last 7 years, or anything else will go over his head.

The Lions have Stafford, Bush, maybe the best WR ever in his prime to go with a great front 7. I'd say behind Washington, it's 4th
Classyposter58;1560345 wrote:He's actually one of the most clutch QBs in the NFL, his fourth quarter stats are insane, and the Lions were 3rd in the NFL in passing yardage this season. But he's still pretty decent, but you cannot deny how much more talented the Lions are overall. Bad coaching has killed them lately, but the Browns haven't even sniffed being average honestly it's been I believe 6 years since you guys have won more than 5 games. That's terrible and you're not close really, the Chiefs were stacked defensively and have the second best RB in football with Charles which is why they popped up this season.

Btw I am loyal to Detroit sports teams, may not be the prettiest city but at least I can say I've seen some championship parades down Woodward Avenue. When was the last time one occurred over there in that mistake by the lake?
Classyposter58;1560438 wrote:Haha everyone is in most games, they aren't a damn MAC team playing in the B1G, this is the NFL. And maybe I'll make another thread in my 2013 AL Central Champions shirt: thumbup:. My 2011 and 2012 ones are getting a little worn
Classyposter58;1560466 wrote:Lol people who live large markets usually do, and also that's our cities namesake. But hey our basketball team has won a lot too if you want to go there, I can't remember the last NBA team to win a title in Cleveland though. Haha you couldn't even keep the Browns in your city, good lord that's as bad as it gets
Classyposter58;1560580 wrote:They should have won 10 games lol. They were favored to win 10 games but poor coaching lead to them crapping out and missing the playoffs
Classyposter58;1560755 wrote:Because they were favored to win the game, and had on paper superior talent? I don't get it, Cleveland lost 7 games by double digits lol, 7! Compare that to Detroit who lost 3 by double digits and 6 by less than a TD including 3 on a last second FG. Detroit was very close, Cleveland was not, simple as that
Classyposter58;1560780 wrote:Superior to the Browns? It's not really close, they have a better front 7 on D and have an offense that can finish. Cleveland has no balance at all, Lions have a good backfield combo in Bush/Bell, capable QB in Stafford and the best WR in the NFL. Plus they went into Cleveland, dominated the second half and won by 14 last season

Turns out the D-line allowed Ben to go 29-45 356 yards, 4 TD with no interceptions or fumbles....in 25 mph winds and blowing rain.

Serious Question. Is Ford Field owned by the city of Detriot?

When the bankruptcy proceedings go through, will it be part of the auction?

I’d like to bid on it.

    Does not appear to be...

Not at all, you weren't even born then. You have no idea what happened. I am just trying to keep the threads on topic. Enjoy discussing Detroit sports here though!

Also, I am willing to bet in 10 years one of the detroit franchises will be gone.

Why? I mean we're all in trouble if that happens because that is the second wealthiest area in the Midwest outside of Chicago

Detroit's wealth is like 3rd world country wealth. You have a handful of really nice $$ areas which are all surrounded by the majority who are poor.

The wealth cited must be documents by the unreal real estate.
