Fab1bAwesome win for FCD tonight against Sporting KC, Wife and I have attended several games since moving to Dallas two years ago and I'm glad to see the MLS getting better. This year will be very competitive!

This is precisely why I will not attend another Crew game until I have another option than going in person.Ytowngirlinfla;1712841 wrote:When you shut out local fans they'll be lucky to grow the fan base at all.
Yes, I recognize that I many not ever see them again.....but that is not my loss. -

Really? Opening weekend and games are impossible to find -- except for day 3. That's weak. Opening weekend shouldn't be televised on Spanish-only television. That's not so hot of MLS.Ytowngirlinfla;1712841 wrote:MLS has been all over TV so far and will continue to be. FoxSports, ESPN and Univision. Yet the crew sign an exclusive deal with TWC. Why not FoxSports Ohio which everyone has? I mean how many people in Columbus even have Time Warner? When you shut out local fans they'll be lucky to grow the fan base at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they are moved in the future.
Like I mentioned, I don't know what was available for CCSC when the deal was signed. Maybe FoxSports Ohio didn't want it? Maybe they didn't put in a bid? Maybe the bid from TWC was better? I'm not sure, I don't know the answer. But, I imagine there was some consideration on what was the best deal. I'm sure the front office didn't seek to alienate any fanbase.
But, blackouts aren't really that abnormal either. NFL has blackouts in their local markets for televised games. Not saying it's the right thing to do, because I don't like not watching soccer either, but I get it. Blackout the market to push people to attend games. I don't fault that one bit. I want butts in the seats too.
All this said, it appeared the home opener for CCSC happened to be a pretty decent attendance. But, I'm only going off of what I saw from the highlights. -
Laley23Barcelona takes down Real 2-1 today. Referee was horrendous. But, 4 points clear at top of La Liga now.

SportsAndLadySteven Gerrard coming in at half and getting a red card in the 46th minute was hilarious.

Poor liverpool fans. Gerrard cost you the title last year and possibly top 4 this year. He can't get to LA soon enough lol.lhslep134;1715595 wrote:Not for me -

Fab1bSwitzerland and the US in an early game today. US holding onto 1-0 lead but Altidore takes a stupid red card after he tells the ref to fuck off in his face twice

Fab1bJust bought FCD season tix. Included US/Honduras, Panama/Haiti Gold Cup matches as well. 17 games at $19.60 a ticket. Enjoying MLS!
Also may head to San Antonio Wed 4/15 for US/MX but not sure on that one yet. Hoping I can work that one out. -
lhslep134Ohiobucks our bet was avatar for 2 weeks after each of the matchups correct? Since I failed to do it back in November I'll do it from now until the next matchup

Thx. Wasn't much of a stretch since we've spent about 100 million more than them in the last 12 months. -
Fab1bJust got my tix to US/MX on 4/15 in San Antonio. Friend and his wife along with me and my wife are going to head down from Dallas early that day for the festivities! First USMNT's game for me and I'll go to the Gold Cup game in July in Dallas as well, so pumped!

mucalum49Down in Orlando for a wedding later this month. Found some decent tickets to Orlando City vs. Toronto FC. Should be a good game, Kaka/Shea vs Giovinco/Altidore/Bradley. Orlando City needs to hurry up and get Chicharito's transfer to go through!

If he goes to the MLS I would bet it would be to one of the LA teams. I think the new LA team starts next year.mucalum49;1719582 wrote:Down in Orlando for a wedding later this month. Fab1bI also read that Ronaldo is interested in 2018 moving to MLS and I read NYC, LA, and Miami(if that team happens) would be his choice. MLS is on the way up and up!

LAFC comes in with Atlanta in 2017. The Loons with the best kit/crest join the MLS in 2018.Ytowngirlinfla;1719628 wrote:If he goes to the MLS I would bet it would be to one of the LA teams. I think the new LA team starts next year.
