The betting thread - who ya got?

Got my money back on Kansas since Perry Ellis is a good free throw shooter.

Also have a parlay going of Kansas -10, Georgetown ML and N.C. State -1. Even though I am already resigned to a partial win since Kansas pushed, Georgetown blows a 4-point lead with 10 seconds left and is going to overtime with Marquette. Haha. What a stupid night. JTII is such a joke. Why's he still there???? This will be the third straight game that Georgetown has blown a double-digit second half lead. They suck.

Laley, yeah, I ended up not betting tennis tonight, so saved myself from Ivanovic's loss. She looked so good against Serena, too. I do not follow tennis year-round as much as you probably do, so I was not aware of her pattern of play. Good to know.

Told my buddy to bet KU -10.5

He got it at 9.5 lol and he put a hundred on it. Crazy ass muther fucker lucks out with the last minute 1 point switch from Vegas.
  • reclegend22
Nice. I saw it at -10.5 moments before I made the bet, so glad it at least switched to -10 even before I placed it. I had $25 on it, so I'm happy to have that bet back. KU was easily 15 to 20 points better tonight if you take away the freak three-point shooting early by Jefferson and Austin. Those guys came out launching triples like they were the 1997 Utah Jazz backcourt. All you can do is laugh when that type of thing occurs. I mean, please.

    Ferrer +3
    Joker/Wawrinka O 36.5

EDIT: I expect both matches to go 4 sets, and Ferrer/Byrdych to go 5.
Welp, 2-3 here, but still made money. Put twice as much in Stan to cover versus the Joker, I was pretty confident in that bet. Should've gone ML though. I'm a chicken when it comes to a large line and I like the favorite. I'll stick to the lore sure thing...

    Tonight hit on:
    SMU -13
Parlay of Texas ML and Louisiana State ML

First night without a loss or push in awhile (granted I am usually pretty judicious in what I try to pick). Texas really came through, winning on a buzzer-beating three over Kansas State.

Big question of the night. The GOAT Roger Federer or Andy Murray. I am partial to great champions and hope Federer advances as a fan of the sport, but I am a huge fan of Andy Murray's as well. I will be watching this match live, so not sure if I want to bet on it or not. Almost never watch anything I bet (save for post-season events and my team). That was my heart's one stipulation when I first told it I was going to begin betting on sports years ago. As some of you know, I am a ticking time bomb when it comes to sports. Lol.
  • reclegend22
Decided to take Andy Murray at +105, but just put $25 down in order to keep me just a little bit more interested while watching. While Murray seems to have had Federer's number the last year or so, since Murray is still recovering from his off-season back surgery, I feel like this is about as even a contest as there is.

    Let's go tennis!

    Anything tonight fellas?

Parlayed Duke and Wisconsin ML. I think Duke will be able to parlay its dominating performance against State to win a close one against Miami and I see the Badgers with a big bounce-back performance after two straight losses.

Will probably bet on Wisconsin SU as well.

As for the tennis match, FedEx looked great against Andy Murray. While I lost my bet, I'd take that value for Murray almost every time. But, honestly, I'm glad to see Roger have another shot at a Grand Slam Down Under. With Djokovic out, you have to like his chances. Nadal will be tough, though.

Djokovic is a much better matchup for better than nadal. I see nadal winning 4 sets

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable betting an aging Federer against Rafa in the height of his prime. Hoping for a great match, though. Who knows how many more late-Slam Federer-Nadal meetings there will be. Wish it were the final.

Luckily I only did the parlay, because Wisconsin going down big tonight. This depsite Andre Hollins leaving the game for good with an injury 20 seconds in. Kinda taken aback with how easily Minnesota is having its way. The Badgers appear listless and just down and out. This looks nothing like a Bo Ryan-coached team.

    Other bets:

    Vegas ML
    Parlay Vegas and California ML

What happened to Hollins? This will have to be my 1st injury replacement this year in fantasy.

Ankle injury. He never returned, but normally teams err on the side of caution regardless of the severity. Not sure how serious or if he'll miss any further games or not.

Went one of two on my late-night bets, but I put more down on Vegas SU than my parlay so made out decently. Something kind of told me that USC would beat Cal, but ML was too good to pass up on that one with how horribly the Trojans have played of late.

Haha. Boise hits a 3 at the buzzer, up 18, to win by 21.

    Took Boise -18

Now need michigan to cover 5 points, and i'll hit my parlay.

It's been quite around here lately. Not much CBB today but a lot of NBA going today.

I finally had a great day yesterday:

2 team parlay Kentucky -13 and Wisky -5

    Syracuse -6
    UCONN -6.5
    MSU ML
    SDST -4

    3 team teaser
    Gtown +20.5
    Wichita St -3
    Gonzaga -0.5

    just missed Sparty

Hit big on Stan last night ML in the Aussie Open.

I think he was like +345 or something.
  • birddog23
Jumping on the Heat today at Home. Wade is playing. LBJ going to have a big game
  • SportsAndLady
    Hit on a 3 game parlay today..Mavs-6.5, Phoenix +1.5, and Nets -4.5

I had it originally as a 4 game parlay, with LA covering against NYK. But my train went under the subway and I lost service...when I got out from the subway a few min later, the game had already started so I just took them off the ticket. Lakers didn't cover. Gambling gods looking out for me today lol

Got a lot of $$$ riding on ML's tonight. Duke, Nova, and Ok St. Plus a parlay because I just don't give a fuck
  • reclegend22
Got Duke +4 and then parlayed that with Nova ML.

    Let's go Devils.
  • reclegend22
Win or lose, when loaded with talent, Duke is always a good bet when that big an underdog in the ACC.

Nova, however, is leaving much to be desired tonight. They lead, but only slightly. Georgetown deserves some credit, though, for staying in this game despite having lost three starters this season, having no bench to speak of, and playing without a coach.

Fuck Ok St. Still had a good night but they could've made it great
