This is INSANELY stupid. I truly don't understand it. Is he completely broke?
  • bases_loaded
Possibly. Or the thrill was worth the $5. Or he couldn't deposit enough but most likely just broke. Hell he could've flown to Vegas and hedged and still been way up

I kinda wanna put money on the osu vs MSU under at 133.5

The NBA is such a fucking crapshoot. God it's a joke. How people consistently make money betting on that sport is beyond me. Nothing matters in that league. There is almost never any logic to anything that happens. I mean, one night the Thunder play Houston and I don't bet on it due to being hesitant with Westbrook out. Thunder win 117 to 86. Tonight, I decide that taking Thunder +1 on a tease is a pretty solid bet as well as Durant has played and the Jazz, while decent at home, are atrocious. The Thunder are losing by 25. I mean, fuck the NBA.

    Vent over.

I seriously just dont understand why you bet on it? I dont even feel bad for you...

Your relying on guys who dont come to play until the 4th Q 90% of the time and dont care at all in a good number of games. Why you would ever bet on games like this is beyond me. Bet on college bbk, you might lose, but at least you know the players are giving 100% the entire time.

Please never, ever bet basketball teasers. They are horrible props. More than 2/3 of all b ball games end up more than 5 points from the betting line. In order to win 2 bets...you have to win 4 games. plus, most joints make you lay 6 to 5 on that nonsense.

An occasional NFL teaser is about the extent of wise betting with teasers.

Bet FSU minus 6.5 first half. Bet FSU minus 9 on second half. Bet FSU for the game at minus 8.5 and then again at minus 10. Bet FSU on the money line. Lost a chunk but averted disaster with the miracle finish.

Believe I am done with it.

As far as teasers go, football and college basketball are where my success comes. Where I slip up is when I "need something else to bet" and take an NBA game as part of something I am doing. For example, last night, I had Creighton, Syracuse and Thunder. Wanted Michigan State, but Bovada scratched it out last second so I couldn't. Anyway, I am done with NBA.

College basketball can be profitable when betting this way. I view winning 60% of your teasers -- or more -- on average as successful. Not sure on my exact numbers, but I generally win more than I lose over the course of a season on them.

I think what Wedge is saying is you would win those bets as a straight parlay most times (for WAY more money). Cause you take a teaser for 5 pts...but in reality, almost all games end up more than the spread by 5. So if you have Duke -4 instead of -9, they will probably cover the 9 points regardless. You just are a chicken shit and took the 5 pts lol.

I dont know if I agree with it 100%, but I do to an extent. I agree on big spreads that teasers are sucker bets. But if the line is 2.5 or less, teasers can work.

Back on the grind. Fit some parlays going tonight. Won a 2 team over on the 2 soccer games yesterday. City covered by themselves

Ugh... before I went to lunch I put a $10 bet on UL Monroe to win straight up... decided to check and see what the score was and ULM was up 1 with 5 seconds left... check back and the game is now going into OT. Should have just taken the +3.5 but they'll probably lose by 4 now anyway haha.

What's everyone like tonight. I took a few days off after the BCSNC game so haven't really looked into any games yet.

LOL so went and looked at some lines and came back and ULM did lose by 4 haha. Awesome start for the day!

I put $20 to win 118.80 on a parlay San Francisco ML +157 and LMU ML +170

    Then have 5 on these:

    Depaul +9
    Auburn +7
    Lasalle -3
    Belmont -4
    BYU -16
    Arizona -2.5
    UTEP -3
    Weber St +2
    UC Davis +8
    LMU +4.5
    San Fran +4
    Cal +6.5
    Gonzaga -9

Parlayed them all for $1 to win $3,500.

Right now all I have is Memphis +10 at Louisville. I like UCLA tonight against Arizona. While I think they're the best team in the country this season, the Wildcats will lose at some point and I see the trip to Pauley being the first.
  • Iliketurtles
I thought about taking Memphis too just couldn't pull the trigger lol.
  • reclegend22
Yeah, it was hard after the Tigers' showing against Cincinnati at home over the weekend. They got absolutely hammered. Historically under Josh Pastner, Memphis has been as undisciplined as it is talented, with this year being no exception, so over the course of the second half things could easily fall apart.

Ended up taking Arizona at -2. Too good to pass up. By backtracking on my original pick, I will for sure lose. But Arizona is simply the better team. Let's go Cats.

Also took Iowa -18 over Northwestern, but that line is really pushing it to me, even as below average as NW is.

Lol I just put at $20 NW +17.5 haha.

I had a bunch of games I didn't bet looks like a few of them would have been winners(memphis +10, FSU +3, and possibly George Mason +16.5) I sure I had some others that would have been loses too haha.

Few games I did pull the trigger on Michigan -5.5 and Eastern Washington ML +110

Haha. Yeah, I really didn't like anything else at the 9 p.m. slot so I went with Iowa, but it's definitely a pretty large spread for the Hawkeyes. While good, they are just not really a team that wins games by such wide margins. I probably handed over money on that one.

Like you, I'm partial to Gonzaga -9 over Portland, and maybe will add another game at 10 or 11.

Haha I just put 10 on Montana State and Hawaii each getting 3 points. Then parlayed the ML for both +140- $10 to win 47.60
  • Iliketurtles
Put one last bet out there for the night. 30 on LBST ML +105.

Im going to bed. Hopefully I will wake up to good news.
  • reclegend22
Fuck Arizona for leading by 10 to 14 all second half and allowing UCLA to tie the game up in the final two minutes.
  • reclegend22
Well, nice. Memphis, Arizona and Iowa all covered tonight. Should've parlayed them, but oh well.

All I have left tonight is a teaser with Gonzaga -4 and Oregon -1.5.
  • reclegend22
Gonzaga -9 turned out not as good as I thought. Haha. Zags were down double digits most of the second half.

Hate tonight's selection of games. Back to the usual Friday night high school schedule for college basketball. But I do like Iona -12 at home against Fairfield. Sean Armand is still on the roster and one of the best pure scorers out there. Fairfield is just bad.

Anyone have anything they really like today?

Yeah it was a very bad call on us taking the Zags at -9 I saw very early in the game they were down 11 to 3 and I was like yep this bet isn't winning.

I should have just not bet anything after I made my original bets as they all lost except for 1. Really just would have been great day of betting if LMU would have won. O well. As for tonight yeah there isn't much. I'll have to look into stuff since its just a bunch of smaller schools.

Iona won by 9 and Sean Armand scored 0 points. Lol.

Kid averages more than 20 a game and has scored 30+ on multiple occasions. That's the only game I will lose money on tonight. These Friday night games between obscure teams are just way too random on which to wager a truly educated guess.
