  I think Kyrie is one of the more overrated players. People often think overrated means someone is trying to say they aren't good--they just take the most extreme opinion of what overrated means. It's not to say he isn't good, just that it's a very stacked group of PG's in the NBA right now and people often put Kyrie right up at the top with any of them. While I think he's a very talented player, if you take the emotion and bias of being a Cavs fan out of it, he hasn't really shown anything that elevates him to the top of that list. Therefore, by definition, overrated. But still very good.
  
  That said, I'm not really a Cavs fan. But I do think they'll make the playoffs this year--I like their squad. Thompson is going to have a really nice season I think.

  That absolutely isn't to say that Kyrie doesn't appear to have the ability to get himself at the top of that list.

  Kyrie is a scorer and the first clutch player the cavs have had since the 90s era cavs. But i agree, he is overrated because he doesn't play any defense at all. To be elite, you have to at least be an average defender, I think.

  Well, your argument about the first clutch player would get destroyed by facts and numbers and is absolutely an emotional claim but I won't go there.

  yeah, i am an emotional guy..you caught me. I actually don't really watch the NBA much other than attending a game or so a year. It isn't a real great product anymore.

  I'm a Pacers fan, I'd take Kyrie over any PG going forward except maybe Chris Paul. For one year only, Chris Paul for me, but Kyrie probably 2nd.
  
  That at is not based on numbers, because numbers wise, he is probably overrated by where people rank him. Just based on what I see and envision him accomplishing. Love his game and I think his style is he perfect PG style

  I probably agree with that. I still hope that Mike Brown can convince him to put in the effort on both ends of the floor.

  Bullshit. I used to be a huge basketball fan and now I can't stand it because of today's current players. I still follow the Cavs because I'm "all in" for Cleveland but today's NBA doesn't compare to the Magic/Bird/Jordan days.

  You're right, it doesn't. It's MUCH, MUCH better. My days of watching and following the game go back to tape delay days. Magic/Bird, Jordan, I watched it. Loved it then. Simple fact is, the game is absolutely leaps and bounds ahead of where it was then in all ways.

  Agree to disagree. Players may be more athletic, etc but there are no "rivalries" like Bird/Jordan/Magic because the players are constantly either chasing rings or money to the next city. No loyalty has watered it down.

  No fucking way. Give me the NBA of the late 80 - mid 90s any day over the current product.
  
  I just preferred the actual game play of the past. Too much one on one and lazy play during the regular season in the game of today.

  Loyalty is completely overrated. Chasing rings and money? As if that wasn't happening back in the day. The product is LIGHT YEARS ahead of where it was in the Jordan 90's. A bottom half playoff team these days would have been one of the top teams in either conference. It's not just that players are more athletic, they're just flat out better. The only thing that makes basketball worse today, is the media. The ridiculous picking apart of everything that certain players do on the floor is just out of control. But the game has never been better. I'd rather have a bunch of good teams battling night in and night out than watch 10 games of mediocre basketball between the few rivalry match ups.

  I think this is just perception because it's in your face so often these days, and all we remember from the past is the big moments and the playoff games. It's like when LeBron misses a game winning shot, the media goes all ape shit over and say he isn't clutch and then shows the same 3 clips of Jordan making game winners on repeat and acting like he never missed one--when in reality they shoot a pretty similar percentage on those shots. They're creating the perception for you and you're allowing it to happen.

  Give me college hoops over the NBA also. I want to see an offense ran and intense defense. You have to wait a whole season to see that in the NBA.

  Loyalty is overrated. When a lawyer takes a better job in NYC than he has in Cleveland, do you say good luck and congrats, or do you say he has no loyalty? Why do professional athletes have to be loyal? It makes no sense. And I love how you say it's Miami and everyone else, but you long for the days of Jordan/Bird and Magic--an entire two decades that YOU define by THREE PLAYERS.

  Not really, but I mean you can just tune out until later in the season. My point was, it was like that back in the day too. You just don't recall those games in December 1992 anymore. You remember June and that's it. The glory games, the playoff moments that defined people's careers. The idea that they went all out like the trophy was on the floor back in those days is asinine.

  WTF? Nobody is going to an arena or sitting at home watching/cheering for a lawyer. Your comparison makes no sense. It's apples & oranges. And there were more than three players/teams. At least back then it wasn't a forgone conclusion who the champion would be BEFORE the season started. And I go back past that era...more like the Kareem/Lakers, Havlichek/Cowens/etc/Celtics.

  But yeah, it wasn't a forgone conclusion. 14 of 19 seasons the title was won by one of those 3 teams. In 63 NBA seasons, 33 of the titles have been won by 2 teams. Out of the other side of your mouth you're probably calling LeBron a bum because he only has 2, but it's a forgone conclusion that he's going to win it!
