Pittsburgh Polamalu's @ Tom's Patriots
-
Ironman92Weak call as it didn't affect Gronk....but needs to be called
-
Ironman92Gronk makes this team actually look like the Patriots......glad he couldn't wait until next week
-
Ironman92Pats with 318 yards of offense and another 64 yards of penalties from Pittsburgh.
-
Ironman92That was the worst blitz I've ever seen lol
-
Ironman92Great play by Polamalu....now run a damn play before they review
-
Ironman92
My bad...all turnovers are reviewed. It was definitely a fumble, but it may not have been a catch by definition, but they haven't even mentioned that.Ironman92;1528596 wrote:Great play by Polamalu....now run a damn play before they review -
Ironman92Great play by Ben after the Troy forced TO
-
Ironman92Every ounce of momentum....now for something stupid. I'll guess Haley
-
Ironman92Haley with 2 straight very good calls
-
Ironman923 straight?????....that may have been Ben on that one, but a Haley design
-
AutomatikTie ballgame. I am surprised.
-
Ironman92Damn....tie game.
Good throws by Ben and lol, good play calls by Haley -
HereticLooks like they did good to tie it.
And then looks like they sucked ass to give up 17 straight in not that much time.
Only bright spot in that was this tweet I saw (not by me). Made me lol. Fucking dumbass Simms...
Jos A. Banks ‏@theJoshBanks 13m @Dejan_Kovacevic According to Phil Simms a three score lead is harder to overcome than a 2 score lead. Think #Steelers are in trouble.

Ironman92Ike Taylor and Ryan Clark out due to hurt feelings.
What happened to Casey Hampton? I don't think a Steelers D-Line guy or LB has made a tackle on their RB's this half. Polamalu is the only guy on defense that can tackle today. -
Raw Dawgin' itSteelers might want to work on their defense.

Not sure he is on any roster. IN the past he would show up way overweight and out of shape, but came around when the season started.. They signed his backup to a deal this past offseason, and also the have been drafting DL.Ironman92;1528707 wrote:Ike Taylor and Ryan Clark out due to hurt feelings.

Big snack was on borrowed time. NT's in the 3-4 dont last very long, and he was around longer than most. He may have been just as important in the lockerroom as on the field.
This team is reeling like I have never seen before. The defensive effort was abysmal, and embarrassing.
I cannot remember a time that I was this down on a steeler team. Absolutely atrocious. -
AutomatikThe last time they were 2-6 was after their SB win in '05. I don't remember them being THIS bad. You're right, its fucking painful to watch.
Roethlisberger is the only constant positive. I had a convo with some friends yesterday regarding his future in Pittsburgh. Going into "rebuild" mode is imminent and he maybe has 3-4 years left....of course it depends if he can stay healthy. What are the chances they try to unload him and start planning for the future? Several teams out there are desperate for some solid QB play and he could probably step in immediately and improve their team. It sucks to think about, but its part of the game. -

Steelers dont go big in FA, and have to let big guys leave in the past but they have a good amount of players with solid contracts right now taht is eating up the cap and killing the depth. In the past if a guy got hurt someone could easily step in. With no $$$, low draft picks, and some misses this team is severly handcuffed.Automatik;1529061 wrote:The last time they were 2-6 was after their SB win in '05. I don't remember them being THIS bad. IF they can fix the OL......that is the first priority.
Second, is an OCoord. Many of us wanted Arians out...we got our wish, and now look. The front office messed up when they did not include BR in the hiring of the OC. He should have had some input.
The defense was said to be old a couple of years ago. They have attempted to get younger on the DL, and the LB's are thin now at talent with replacements not doing wellfor Harrison and on the inside. TP is gettin gup there, but still solid. Clark is old...Taylor is still solid but making alot of $$$.
Just alot of bad shit going on.
Mentioned it before....I love the 3-4 as I would rather have more athletes on the field and makes you more versatile, but is the bllitzing scheme hasnt been fooling people the last couple of years. the DL was never asked to sack the QB. it was always the LB's beating ya on the outside, or an elaborate blitz that fools the OL and QB. Those fooling days seem to be dwindling. -
thavoicedid not answer your ?.
Not sure I would get rid of BR. With good OL play I think this offense could be solid for a number of years to come. -
AutomatikSo I'm assuming you think Haley will get canned? It has to happen. I can't handle another season of 10 screen passes per game.
-
thavoiceUnless the second half the offense really starts to him and the relationship between him and BR is much better then I think he almost has to. He was brought in to protect ben more with short passes and run the ball. Running isnt there, and they are dinking and dunking more. I think it comes down to the last 8 games.

He about has to be gone. With the Super Bowl win in the recent past, Tomlin will get a bit of a pass from ownership, I'd imagine (even though the team looks horribly unprepared coming into games, as their atrocious first-quarter points for/against ratio shows). But for him to stay, I'd imagine there will have to be a purging as far as assistants go.Automatik;1529072 wrote:So I'm assuming you think Haley will get canned? It has to happen. Haley is horrible. LeBeau has been great for his career, but the defense just isn't there this year and with his age, I could see him retiring before rebuilding. Whoever the OL coach is has to be gone. That unit has steadily gone downhill since the departure of Russ Grimm. -

This is where your problem lies. With the fact that Pittsburgh doesn't spend big in FA, this "fix" for them won't be quick. I'd expect seasons like this to be the norm, rather than the exception, until they sufficiently reload through the draft.thavoice;1529068 wrote:Steelers dont go big in FA, and have to let big guys leave in the past but they have a good amount of players with solid contracts right now taht is eating up the cap and killing the depth. AutomatikIt's a weird feeling to be looking forward to the draft at this point in the season. They should be in position to take someone solid with their first pick.
This draft has loads of talent, I'm hoping the get it right. -

Was actually very surprised where I saw them taking the QB Hundley with the #8 pick in the draft in one mock. Roethlisberger still has some tread on the tires and I don't think they'd have the luxury of selecting a player with their 1st rounder that wouldn't contribute in year one.Automatik;1529128 wrote:It's a weird feeling to be looking forward to the draft at this point in the season.
