2013/14 NBA season chatter - let the LBJ hating begin!
-
supermanMark Jackson is the worst.
-
SportsAndLadyJackson and van gundy are just so damn opinionated. Just STFU and announce the game.
-
Commander of AwesomeThey both try and show how smart they are. Gets annoying.

It wouldnt even be fair, Id literally quit watching the NBA if this happened. The Heat could pick a lucky fan from section 400 to play in the starting 5 for them every night and still win 60 games -

Lol good ol Pat Riley.KB0938;1625292 wrote:http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2014/story/_/id/11068709/miami-heat-discussing-options-target-carmelo-anthony-free-agency?ex_cid=espnsoc

KB0938PG-Bron
Sg-Wade
Sf-Melo
Pf-Bosh
C- go find Darko and theyll have 1-5 of the 2003 draft -
robj55Don't see that happening although it could. Melo would have to come off the bench. I do see them however upgrading the PG position in the off season, Chalmers has been a trainwreck, no consistency.
-
KB0938IFFF that happened, I would think that Bron would just run point, I mean hell he does it well enough anyways. And theyd ditch Chalmers n start Melo, no way any HC with half a brain would start Chalmers and leave Melo on the bench.
But hopefully it wont happen, and i doubt it does. Because....that wouldnt even be fair -
robj55
Nah Bron can't start at point and guards PG's for 40 minutes a night, he can do it in spurts and very well. They would still have a traditional line up.KB0938;1625298 wrote:IFFF that happened, I would think that Bron would just run point, I mean hell he does it well enough anyways. PG-?
SG-Wade
SF-Bron
PF-Lewis/Haslem
C-Bosh
Then bring Melo off the bench to strictly score with the second unit. Don't think it will happen but nothing would shock me anymore, they are all friends and they could all take less money to make it work. -
robj55Or against some teams you could start Lebron at the 4 and Melo at the three, but that's still asking even more from Lebron giving up size. A lot of teams play smaller line ups though so who knows.
-
Midstate01If Bron played point though, couldn't they almost just play zone. Wade can't guard as well and Melo can't guard his wife. So maybe they'd just play zone. They'd be really long.
-
KB0938Lol if you're gonna start Rashard Lewis or Haslem at the 4, you could easily put Melo or Lebron there. Haslem is no defensive player and is smaller than both Bron and Melo not to mention ancient. And Lewis while being 6-10 is like 210lbs. I just think if this EVER unfortunately happened theyd find a way to have all 4 of the big 4 start

Yeah this is what i was thinking. But if you're gonna start Haslem or Lewis anyways you're givin jup either weight with Lewis or height with Haslemrobj55;1625303 wrote:Or against some teams you could start Lebron at the 4 and Melo at the three, but that's still asking even more from Lebron giving up size. Yes but they would get killed even more than they do now on the boards.Midstate01;1625304 wrote:If Bron played point though, couldn't they almost just play zone. Wade can't guard as well and Melo can't guard his wife. So maybe they'd just play zone. They'd be really long. -

Yeah but those guys are atleast more accustomed to their roles and having to bang. Plus you never want to put your star player in risk of getting in foul trouble, which would happen a lot with Lebron at the 4 imo.KB0938;1625306 wrote:Yeah this is what i was thinking. MulvaThere is literally a 0% chance of Melo coming off the bench.

Haslem is no defensive player? Typo? That's all he does is play D and rebound.KB0938;1625305 wrote:Lol if you're gonna start Rashard Lewis or Haslem at the 4, you could easily put Melo or Lebron there. YEah, but most teams dont happen to have 3 other star players to turn to lol. But I truly hope nothing even remotely close to this happensrobj55;1625309 wrote:Yeah but those guys are atleast more accustomed to their roles and having to bang. He used to be sure, but hes ancient and is about as much of a threat on D now as David Lee or Harden haha(ok maybe not that bad). He used to be real good at D and that midrange jumper, but he seems to of gone WAY down hill the past year or sorobj55;1625311 wrote:Haslem is no defensive player? Typo? ernest_t_bassI hope it happens.

robj55
Yeah true but Lebron is head and shoulders above those other guys and makes that team go on both ends, can't afford him not playing his usual minutes.KB0938;1625312 wrote:YEah, but most teams dont happen to have 3 other star players to turn to lol. I disagree, his jumper isn't consistent anymore but his energy levels and D are still there. He makes guys work despite being undersized. Plus they would need a junkyard dog type, can't have just all pure skill players on the floor.KB0938;1625313 wrote:He used to be sure, but hes ancient and is about as much of a threat on D now as David Lee or Harden haha(ok maybe not that bad). The more I think about it I think it will happen, they are all friends and I guarantee you Melo is tired of losing, his situation in NY is awful, no light at the end of the tunnel. Pat Riley can make it work/happen.ernest_t_bass;1625315 wrote:I hope it happens. -

He barely even sees the floor( when it counts), I dont see how hes even worth anything besides veteran leadership at this point really. Nevertheless Im pretty sure even if htey had all skill players....those skill players happen to be superstars and would win 60+ games easily. Even with Bron at the 4 or what have you. I just hope this is all hypothetical and this doesnt happen, or it will be a sad day for basketball.robj55;1625317 wrote:I disagree, his jumper isn't consistent anymore but his energy levels and D are still there. It's not about winning 60 games for that team though, it's all about titles really. Not sure what would be sad about it, maybe more players should sacrifice money for winning, I see no problem with that. This isn't like the Yankees paying everyone on their roster 200 million, there is a salary cap with luxury tax. The NBA has been built on all time great teams.KB0938;1625320 wrote:He barely even sees the floor, I dont see how hes even worth anything besides veteran leadership at this point really.
