2013/14 NBA season chatter - let the LBJ hating begin!

  • wildcats20
    All Star Starters announced:
(And before anyone complains about who got the nod, remember it's FAN VOTED)

    East:
    Kyrie
    D Wade
    Paul George
    Melo
    Bron

    West:
    Steph Curry
    Kobe
    KD
    Blake Griffin
    Kevin Love

Kobe tried to petition his fans to NOT vote for him, but no such luck. He has already said he will not play, saying he didn't deserve it. I would expect CP3 to be his replacement. Also, I LOVE seeing Dwight Howard's name left off the starters.

Also, the GOD AWFUL sleeved uni's make their ASG debut. Fuck you adidas and NBA.

  • wildcats20
Apparently, the NBA is most likely going to force Kobe into playing. If he refuses to play, after being voted in, he will face a 2 game suspension. So he said he would go out there for 2 minutes and then sit.

Thats dumb. They should allow someone else to get the nod to start, and the spot he would be vacating.

And if they force him, and he gets hurt, I wouldn't put it past the Lakers to sue the NBA.

Yeah, I'm seeing now that there is no official rule, but that the NBA won't be happy with him.

What kind of moron fan votes for someone into an ASG whose played 6 games? SMH

lol didn't Yao Ming get voted in once or twice without playing any games?
  • GOONx19
^ Yes. China gets to vote.

    Good for Kobe.

    Hopefully Wade won't play either.
  • Trueblue23
Melo is going right the fuck off. 49 points with 7 minutes left... in the 3rd quarter

22/30 from the field. That's soooo crazy.

    56 through 3, Charlotte has 66.

Watching this Kings Pacers game, thrilling so far. Pacers with a big 2nd half come back.
  • sportswizuhrd
Chandler Parsons hits 10-3's in the 2nd half and the Rockets lose by 2.

I didnt think they would top the game where they scored 54 points less in the 2nd half than 1st, but they did it.

Obviously just about every Lakers fan loves Kobe, but the younger crowd especially would absolutely suck his dick if given the chance.

Wtf? If he isn't playing during the regular season, why would they expect him to play during the ASG game? It's not like he's refusing to play when healthy, he's fucking hurt.

He's going to be reevaluated this coming week-ish. It's expected that he will be able to play after. Technically he would be "healthy" for the game, if he is given the ok to play.

But is that a good idea for anything other than potential interest in the All-Star game? I mean, the Lakers are pretty much garbage this year because they're in the West (as opposed to the NO ONE IS EVER ELIMINATED East) and he's not going to be able to change that. And he came back from one injury only to get another. Seems to me that it'd be wise to keep him shut down a while longer and maybe, if he wants, bring him back late in the year to shake off the rust, while using their (likely good) lottery pick to give him someone young and good to start setting the stage for next year.
  • wildcats20
Kobe is the only one who is going to shut down Kobe. Heh as already said that Izzo not happening. Lakers FO and Mike D won't have any say.
  • Mulva
51 points from Terrence Ross. Would not have seen that one coming.
  • Ironman92
Heat beating down Spurs pretty good. Offense was crazy efficient from early 3rd until mid. 4th quarter building a 30 point lead. Bosh didn't play at all in the 4th and LeBron sat out the last 15 minutes of the game. Wade barely played in the 3rd

I knew the east was performing poorly this year, but I guess I didn't realize to what extent. Atlanta, the 3rd best team in the east, is 11 games behind first-place Indiana. Charlotte (8th) is 16.5 back. 3rd place Atlanta would not make the playoffs in the west.

Anthony Davis with 22 points, 19 rebounds and 7 blocks.

Went to the GSW Trailblazer game tonight. Curry was just ridiculous.

Indeed. I'm shocked he's become as good as he has been. You can tell he's worked really hard in the gym improving his athleticism and strength, and hasn't lost any of his skills in doing so.
