That Cardinals ineptness on the rundown was awesome.

The Cards have now completely lost focus as evidences by that atrocious botched rundown play!

Either that or a combination of fatigue and being blinded by rage.

Pitcher murdered that play and SS held it too long as he should've seen the pitcher 15 feet off the base.

Because he continues to keep out pitching the more heralded opposing pitchers this postseason....including JV

One of my pet peeves on rundown plays is not coming off the base to make the pinch point quicker and away from the base to not allow the runner to even smell the base, so I applaud the pitcher for being where he was. It was all on the shortstop. As well as the others who kept throwing it too soon and let the runner keep turning around.

Tim Mccarver is done. Tonight, we are all champions.

A proper rundown has the receiver of the next throw creeping in to close down the gap. Our HS coaches who both played in MiLB had a mandate that all rundowns were to end in 2 throws or less...PREFERABLY 1 throw. When you have too much of gap and the receiving end of any throw is just standing there is when you have issues.

Only watched a little bit of the series...mostly would flip and if the game was close would watch for a bit. I agree tho..we all win with McCarver being done.
