Glory DaysRoyals win, Indians are a game up with 6 to play. Texas and Tampa Bay have 7 games left. Tampa plays Baltimore 1, Yankees 3, Blue Jays 3. Texas has a cake walk with Houston and Anaheim left.

MulvaAngels are 14-6 in September. Not as much of a cakewalk as I'm sure the Rangers would like.

HitsRusDepending how Texas does tomorrow (Tribe has day off)....could be a 1 or 2 game lead for the final spot with 6 to play.
With Tampa...a loss by them will bring us even for the #1 spot...a win and they will lead by one game. -

Justin Masterson threw a simulated outing today after the Houston game....and appears ready to make a relief appearance as early as Wednesday against the White Sox. Danny Salazar is scheduled to start that game, and Masterson might be the first out of the pen. -
FootwedgeTribe leapfrogging Ubaldo into Salazar's spot in order to have him available Sunday...if needed. I don't like the idea of Mastersom pitching out of the pen. The long man should be Carrasco who has been lights out as a relief pitcher.

Ironman92They really did enough to put themselves into great position against some cruddy teams the last few weeks of the season and especially the final 9 games.

They are 50-18 against sub .500 teams this year. their schedule certainly made this possible.Ironman92;1505572 wrote:They really did enough to put themselves into great position against some cruddy teams the last few weeks of the season and especially the final 9 games. -
Laley23Everyone played a similar schedule. We have thus far beaten bad teams. That literally makes them NOT a bad team. Can we stop acting like they suck and have no shot in the playoffs, should they get there??

Ironman92
Exactly, they took care of business enough to get them to the last couple weeks.Laley23;1505587 wrote:Everyone played a similar schedule. We have thus far beaten bad teams. Laley23Also, Sox thread coming tomorrow.

HitsRusAttendance for the series was about 84,000....53,000 for the Saturday and Sunday contests.

Yeah, they have beat bad teams, but they cant beat good teams. You have to beat good teams if you want to advance. the Twins, White Sox and Royals all have better records against the Tigers and the Red Sox. My problem is that the front office is winning over guys like you and will sit idle over the off season because they made the playoffs and that is good enough.Laley23;1505587 wrote:Everyone played a similar schedule. And I am not acting like they suck, when they prove me wrong and beat a legit team when it matters, i'll have a little faith in them. -
Con_Alma
This is very accurate. I don't care about the front office winning or not winning people over. That's not who wins people over in my opinion. It's the play on the field that does it....but I are that this team is exactly who I thought it would be in the beginning. Nothing more. I hope to see them in the playoffs but to expect they can play with the big boys ...even if their pitching gets hot at the right time....is being blind to the talent level of the team.Glory Days;1505633 wrote:Yeah, they have beat bad teams, but they cant beat good teams. What's the overall record against above .500 teams? Anyone know? -

like_thatThe AL East can go fuck themselves, however I do agree with that article. Should be no divisions, take the top 5 teams for the playoffs.
-
HitsRusLOL at the AL East complaining about fairness....what with the mega revenue teams in their division that buy their playoff spots every year. (What!!??? the Yanks aren't going to be in the playoffs!!!!...the world is ending!!!)
-
wes_mantoothYeah, the last thing i want to hear is big market teams bitching about an unlevel playing field.
