I officially hope the Colts lose their first game in the playoffs....
-
georgemc80When you disrespect the integrity of the game, you deserve to lose early in the playoffs...
Next week should have been your game to play like a preseason game. This week they were playing a playoff contender. -
wes_mantoothwhat???!!!!!!
Curtis Painter looks legit!! -
ZombieKillerPainter is the future of the Colts. Screw the Peyton Manning talk, Painter is the true star.
-
Puddle JumperMaybe the Colts lost on purpose to keep Pittsburgh out of the postseason.Having Baltimore in the postseason is bad for some teams having Baltimore and Pittsburgh in would be scarey for any team in the AGC.
-
september63Integrity of the game? Teams have been doing this for years. How much $$ did you lose, is the real question?
-
Laley23Dont lose to the Chiefs, Browns, and the Raiders and you dont even notice the Colts are resting players...
-
september63Terrible towels have been known to work as crying towels too.
-
I Wear PantsI swear if this keeps Pittsburgh out of the playoffs I will bitch about it for a year.
-
WaltI agree. Those bastards cost me several hundred dollars and bragging right as I lost the championship game in my fantasy football league due to Manning, Addai, and Wayne putting up crappy stats this week.
-
september63If thats true, you certainly should have known this was probably going to happen.
-
Puddle Jumper
Browns fans are the only ones to do that.Funny it was the Colts who rested their players that year as well and didn't they go on to win the Super Bowl?I Wear Pants wrote: I swear if this keeps Pittsburgh out of the playoffs I will bitch about it for a year. -

At least Addai did decent. 40 yrds and TD for 10 fantasy points.Walt wrote: I agree. Those bastards cost me several hundred dollars and bragging right as I lost the championship game in my fantasy football league due to Manning, Addai, and Wayne putting up crappy stats this week. -
royal_kI remember 2 years ago when Indy did this to the Browns and steeler fans were saying you should have beat Cinci and not relied on Indy to get you into the playoffs. Now the shoes on the other foot, and I don't feel the least bit sorry.

ted their players that year as well and didn't they go on to win the Super Bowl?
HaHa...........you are correct. Paybacks a Bitch!! Indy rested everyone last game in 07 and lost. This kept the Browns out of the playoffs. Remember Jim Sorgi? -
Laley23
Well, the Colts rest their players every year and always lose lol. The year they won the SB they had to play all 4 weeks of the post-season....thus, never resting their players.Puddle Jumper wrote:

georgemc80I didn't lose a dime, I just hate to see the integrity of the game ruined. It happening year in and year out, does not make it right.
I was looking forward to rooting for Manning and the Colts this year in the playoffs....I was hoping to see history.....oh well...they will lose and I hope Manning blames the stupidity of his coach. You can't ignore a chance at history....
Now we will have to hear that idiot Mercury Morris.... -
Gobuckeyes1Screw the Steelers. Take care of business against three of the worst teams in football and they already have a playoff spot locked up.
I hope today's game does help keep Pittsburgh out of the playoffs. They don't deserve it by letting someone else control their destiny. -
big_red_drummerIndianapolis once again resting starters late in the year?
I look forward to San Diego/New England vs. Cincinnati in the AFC Championship -
killer_ewokYeah, I'm not gonna do what some Browns fans did a couple years ago and bitch about it. I was surprised considering the Colts were playing for history but oh well. Cincy and New England may help the Steelers next week.
-
NonThe Steelers have nobody to blame but themselves, I agree with that.
Still, the way the Colts handled this was a disgrace. -
PreacherWhy would you throw away history?
-
killer_ewokYeah, I told Browns fans a couple years ago that they should not have left it up to another team so I'm not going to be a hypocrite and flip flop now. The Steelers should have taken care of business themselves and then it would not matter. The main thing I took from it was being surprised. They obviously are looking at the bigger picture but history was theirs to make. Prepare for large doses of Mercury Morris in the next few days.....

Swamp FoxI think that a team that has been playing to win all season is better prepared for the Play-offs than a team who rests people. I think that a team loses it's edge when it puts makeshift lineups together in the last two or three weeks of the regular season. it also disrespects a team or teams that have worked really hard to get in and then the "resting team" bags a couple of games that they could have easily won to "rest" their starters so that inferior teams sneak in. They are basically given cheap victories that they really didn't earn. I think that "resting" players tends to erode the integrity of the game.

september63Ask the Patriots what going 16-0 meant. For that matter 18-0. I agree, Manning should have finished atleast the drive to go ahead by 12. He has played 12 years in the NFL and missed 0 games with an injury. It wasnt just pulling Manning either, most 1st teamers were all gone after the first drive in the 3rd qtr.
