Fuck that game. Fuck that ump. Hopefully he gets stung by a bee on his way home.

Onto the next one I guess

    FUCK
  • Rotinaj
Im feeling really good about game 2. Reds only lose 6-4.
  • Ironman92
I'd love to see a first pitch in the ribs to start the game tomorrow in the bottom of the 1st....then Dusty, Leake and Meso kick the shit out of game 1 HP ump.
  • Terry_Tate
Fuck the Reds. They'll lose 6-4 just like every other fucking game.

Mike Leake's ERA now 3.27. Up from 2.53 from July 1st. Hitters now hitting .264 against him. Can't wait for that playoff start where every other ball is put into play and he allows his 8 hits, 4 runs over 6.2 innings.

You seriously need to move on. Seriously.

The Reds aren't winning a damn thing in the playoffs because of Dusty anyway. If Cingrani isn't a playoff starter they have a 0% shot of winning any series. Even if Cingrani pitches I'd say maybe 20%. Nobody on this team outside of Latos and Cingrani could be trusted in a playoff game, and even if they have the lead going into the 7th the bullpen will still blow the fucker. Just move on to Bengals football and UK basketball and you'll be happier.
  • Azubuike24
Move on from what? It's a Reds topic.

The guy has allowed 4 runs or more in 7 of 10 starts, and hasn't gone more than 7 innings in all but 1 of those starts.

I have nothing against him other than he's a 5th starter, who a true contender wouldn't have around alongside a pitcher like Arroyo.

Haha. It's tough. Believe it or not, baseball and the Reds are my single favorite.

I appreciate the dozen of us or so who have been able to discuss the team all year. Very, very few people really appreciate baseball anymore. Much easier to find NFL and CFB fans to always give their opinions.

Don't get me wrong. Until the final out, I will ALWAYS be holding out hope things change. It's becoming painfully obvious, as you said, it won't.

    Ridiculous

The Reds have one of the best starting staffs in baseball and he's been smack dab in the middle of it. I believe that is the 5th blown lead the bullpen has allowed in his starts.

Latos is the only guy worth a shit against the Cardinals.

It seems as if you root for Leake to get blown up every game.

Show the last team that Leake is nothing more than a 5th starter this year.

On a team who is "going all in" to try to win a title, he's not good enough. Not if Arroyo is also on the staff. They are long-term, over an entire season producers. Put the Reds up against STL, LAD or DET in a 7-game series and the opponent has the advantage in every head to head pitching match-up except for when Latos goes. And even against Kershaw, Wainwright and Scherzer, he's not as good.

It's that simple. People have disagreed and said "Leake and Arroyo are so consistent, innings-eaters, blah, blah, blah." It's meaningless when it's a one and done format. That's been my point all along. Not that I want Leake to get destroyed.

I kept harping on Leake before when everyone cited his "ERA" as why he was good, when EVERY peripheral stat showed he was the worst on the staff. WHIP, BAA, K/9, BB/9, WAR, etc...all had him equal or below everyone else, yet his ERA was low. He was LUCKY. Sure, he's been clutch, he's a bulldog who's learning how to get out of situations, but he was overachieving. Not sure how anyone can disagree...the numbers back it up.

How many teams fifth starter has an ERA like leakes? Jesus azu, give it up man.

Obliged. I'll attempt to be tolerable the rest of the year. Maybe, just maybe, fortunes will be on our side at some point.
  • Rotinaj
Latos has had 2 months worth of terrible ERAs. 4.45 and 4.71. He also rarely goes longer than 6 innings. Looks like our whole rotation sucks then right?

The thing is, we all kind of agree with you in that we are screwed in the playoffs--Leake will not take us to the WS starting in the playoffs. Outside of Latos, we are toast when it comes to SP advantages. And when Latos is going against other 1's in the NL, it's not so much an advantage.

But he's not a horrible SP like you make him out to be, unintentionally. And he is in the running for a starting spot in the playoffs.
  • thavoice
ML is a nice back end of the rotation starter. When you are a finesse guy you are more vulnerable to giving it up like ML does at times. Tonite will show what this team is made of. If last night's loss doesn't make them come out fired up then this team officially has no pulse. They should make the postseason, and if they set up their rotation correctly Latos will throw in the one game playoff. They have a big enough lead to set the BP up as well for that one game playoff and I believe they have a better than not chance to advance. But after that..this team doesn't have enough tools in the lineup. The SP and BP is good enough, but the margin of error is so little with this lineup.
  • TedSheckler
Here's tonight's prediction of the outcome... Latos will pitch 6 innings and maybe give up 1-2 runs .... but we will have the lead.... Dusty will pull him with runners on 2nd and 3rd ... put Simon in (cause he's good lol) and cards will take the lead and finish with a win... Thanks again Dusty!!!!!!

    Fuck the Cardinals.

I was really hoping the Reds were going to sweep this series and this was going to be the spark the team needed.

It doesn't look like that's the case.
  • SportsAndLady
    Great start guys!
  • Midstate01
Could this team just once show some emotion. I'd take latos going back his SD days and ripping someone's ass. These guys are the most emotionless team I've ever seen. Phillips smiling all day everyday doesn't count. ..

I've been saying that for a long time now.
  • SportsAndLady
    Are we fucking serious?

I hope Dusty is fired TOMORROW.

This team has no discipline whatsoever.
  • sherm03
    Awesome baserunning...

    Fuck this shit.
