The Tribe at the Marlins series thread

IN addition, when he throws that many pitches it accelerates the rate that the Tigers get to the bull-pen.....which has not exactly been the strength of the team this year.

ubaldo is just getting a few extra days. He's thrown a lot of pitches the last few outings so he's just getting a bit of a blow which he is due for.

Not that he probably doesn't need it but the decision is a little more than giving him a needed rest. He's hurting the team right now.

It's not OK "anytime". They lost a game in the standing on this short trip.

Its the same as getting beat by the Tigers head up. There's no difference.
no shit, I said I agreed with Tbone, so why the "???"?

The question marks indicate my lack of understanding in your statement of certainty that 2 of 3 is good.

It's not good if the Tigers win like they did....unless of course you're OK with not making the playoffs then...I guess it is "good".

Do you consider dropping another game back as "good"...whether they are on the road or not.

I seriously question if you understand Major League Baseball. Your logic and expectations are way off. This isn't some video game where you can go 140-22.

Using your logic...had the Tigers lost 2 of 3 and the Indians lost 2 of 3...it wouldn't have been bad.

The Indians can only control the games they play in. So when they start a 3 game road series, given that to this point they have been a poor road team, 2 of 3 is a good goal. Expecting a sweep is unrealistic. It doesn't matter what the Tigers do, the Indians did what they had to do. They just need to keep grinding out series wins.

The upcoming road trip to Oakland and LA? I would be fine with 3-3 in those games.

Seriously??? The start before he gave you eight innings of two-hit ball.... And last start he was victimized by two errors by Druby.

2 out of 3 is good anytime.

    .667

    Edit:

    BTW: .667 = a full season record of 108 - 54

It's not about 2 out of 3. It's about going another game back of the Tigers.

How much you win right now doesn't matter. How much you win compared to the Tigers does.

Seriously. How he's been pitching is not ideal to face the Tigers. Apparently Francona agrees.

That's not my logic at all.

My logic is what's your record versus the team ahead of you. It's not more complicated than that.

I agree they can only control the gamrs they play in. That would be enough if they were in first. .... They aren't. They are dependent on the play of Tigers....unless the INdians work their way into first.

    I understand.

Do you think the Tigers will win 108 games?

Oh, wait, what a stupid question!!! Of course, they will win way more than that! :-)

I don't know nor do I care. What matters is will they win at least 3 less games than the Indians.

How many you win doesn't matter on it's own. How may you win compared to others in your division, does.

exactly, its good, but the tigers are winning 3 of 3 lately. so its not good enough. this isnt the beginning of the season when there is time to catch up anymore.

If they continue to win series, no matter where they are at, they will be right in it. They don't have to win the Central to make the playoffs. They are a wild card team right now.

Earlier in the season I didn't think the widl card was going to be in play after looking at how weak the division appeared. Now I think the wild card is a curse considering the difficulty levied by the playoff setup.

And if we win the division, you'd probably hate the matchup we'd get too..
