TBone14Anytime you can steal a win while getting doubled up on hits...it is a good day.

HitsRusIt was brought up on the other thread that Chiz getting a bunt down was no given and that is totally true. The question is why not? You would think that any major leaguer could get a bunt down if the game was on the line. Lonnie Chisenhall is not Miggie Cabrera...and until he is, he should be able to bunt. That's a failure within the organization if a kid comes up thru the ranks and you can't count on him to get one down.
That was just a solid game all around. Good pitching...clutch hitting...good execution. -

Laley23I'm able to watch the reds tribe and tigers here in Toledo.
On that note, I have been flipping during commercials to the tigers. Leland is gonna ruin JV. I said it years past when his in nigs and pitch count were way to high for what was needed. But he sent him out there for the 8th ALREADY over 100 pitches. JV promptly gives up 4ER, 2 on a Dunn HR and 2 when Albuquerque gave up a HR to Viciedo which allowed 2 inherited runners to score that JV have up singles to after the Dunn HR -
GOONx19Phil Coke is 0-5 with 2 blown saves in 3 attempts and an ERA of 6.00.

I said before the season that verlander won't be the same this year as the past bc of all the innings he has had over the years. He's only going to start declining now. He has already hit his peak. We're starting to see the same thing with sabathia too -
HitsRusI said the same thing about the White sox and the way they were pitching Chris Sale against the Indians last week. They were behind in the ball game late, and they still had him out there snapping off hard sliders at 120+ pitches. That's brutal on his elbow ligament. I know managers want to start stretching out their starters, but that is just asking for trouble.

royal_kIf we can get consistency out of the rotation and back end of the bull pen, we have a shot. Ubaldo's ERA is coming down. I was working so I didn't see the game. Looks like he pitched pretty well. Still a high pitch count for 6 innings. But a win is a win.
And give me Bourn in CF any day, and Stubbs isn't far behind. -
