Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians (July 5-8)

Reynolds is in a prolonged slump and is not swinging the bat well.....a little time off seems to be in order. The Tribe has a great bench, and Tito has used it pretty well. Now that Chiz is swinging the bat better, I'd use the time to let Reynolds get his game together.

The only issue I have with changing things up the way Tito has been going all year is that the bats are NOT the issue right now.

I do think Reynolds needs some time off, but I understand where a manager is coming from. Even if a guy is a "black hole"...if the offense is producing, and it is, why change it up?

The wild inconsistency of the hitters is maddening but our real problem is we need a solid starter and a solid reliever before the deadline.

I'm not saying bench Reynolds, I'm saying give him some 'extra' time off to get his swing right.

in regards to the pitching...which is the biggest part of the problem....
One day it looks like the starters are to blame...and then the next it's the bullpen. I don't want to give up Lindor or any high rated prospect for a 1 year rental to chase a pipe dream. I wouldn't mind a mid level prospect for a solid reliever. I think getting McAllister back would solve a lot on the starter side, but In the end, I think the back end of the pen has to just do what it is capable of. Today we had the BP set up...3 run lead in the 7th....and Smith and Pestano failed miserably.

I am in agreement with this. Just throwing it out there on why Tito probably hasnt.

I still say Jesse Crain. Perez, in all honesty, is fine imo. Its the guys GETTING to him that suck. But if Crain can lockdown the 8th that really helps things. We would only have to get through 1 inning of the blowpen and not 2 before Perez lol.

Starters, well, Cliff Lee will be an option? Maybe we can send them Carrasco, Donald, Marson and whoever the fuck the 4th player was lol.

Also, not opposed to looking at BOTH Sox relievers. Matt Thornton and Jesse Crain. Would easily become our 7th/8th inning guys or have Thornton as a lefty out of the pen at least.

I'm on my way to the game...can't load radar right now on my phone. Anyone have insight on what we are looking at weather wise? Delays? Postponement?

That would be Jason Knapp, the BIG piece of the trade (remember, the Phils refused to give up Drabek, who they ended up trading to TOR for Halladay).

Sorry to rain on your parade Laley...pun intended. I'm rooting for a rainout tonight. Tigers are an 8-5 favorite.
  • HitsRus
Jason Knapp was released last August. I don't believe he is in any organization. He never pitched above A ball.

I'm so tired of Pork Pies Perhalta killing us every goddamn time we play them.
  • iclfan2
Reynolds can barely make contact with the ball right now.

I agree, but Bourn's got to get that ball-he got a late jump and it cost him.

It was hit way too hard. I do love that we expect Bourn to get to that though lol. Just shows how damn good defensively he is

Agreed. Is there another CF not named Trout that gets that close on that hit? Kazmir thought it was gone
