Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians (July 5-8)

  • HitsRus
...and just like that we have lost 3 in a row.:( I was kind of afraid of that when we tied and then went ahead of the Tigers. I'm hoping for a split here....I'd be ecstatic.

We have got to beat the Tigers to have any kind of a chance for a pennant run.. we are 2-7.

Problem is .... they needed game one because of the pitching match up. This team folds in the spotlight

If the pitching wouldn't suck and the bats not go silent, we may have a chance against this team of HOFers.

Why does Carrasco still wear an indians uniform?
  • Laley23
Chisenhall and Carrasco are worthless. Lol

Don't know the last time I left a game in the 6th inning, but I did it the last 2 games. Disgusting display of hitting, n not much better pitching.

Don't know the last time I saw an oxymoron, but I just saw one.

Carrasco now 0-4 with a slick 9.10 ERA. A lot of idiots out there that think a 96 MPH fastball is all it takes to be successful.

No, the Tigers are not the 27 Yankees but on paper they are 15-20 games better than the Indians.

Tito, you remind me of Manny "dont pitch the bullpen until the game is out of reach" Acta.

Raburn needs to play somewhere every day. He's an excellent defensive player no matter where you stick him. 10 home runs as a part time player needs to be on the field.

This team has 2 All Stars. They have over achieved so far this season.

Giambi and Reynolds. I've seen enough of your acts. Awful.

Cabrera....would love to trade his sorry ass.

    The bullpen....pathetic this season.

Gotta hand it to the tribe tho. Every year they hang around in the race until football camp opens. And the misery index remains in full throttle.

I wasted about $180 clams today at the corner of Ontario and whatever the fuck the other street is.

    54 days and counting...

SMH at some of you guys:confused:....this is the same team it was 4 days ago.

For the umpteenth time....a team is never as good as it looks when it's on a winning streak...and never as bad as it looks when on a losing streak.

These good and bad streaks are part of the maturation process for young players. Chisenhall, Gomes and most of the starting pitching including Masterson, Carrasco, Kluber,McAllister...Cody Allen out of the BP....all of these guys suffer from this.
Look at Masterson who has displayed 'ace' like qualities most of the time, still has occasional bad outings and setbacks.

I'm most disappointed in some veterans....Swisher and Reynolds...Jimenez and some of the BP guys.

All in all, this team is not quite ready for prime time.

    The Tigers are.
    That said, they are beatable.

Swisher has been my only complaint in the lineup, everyone else is doing exactly what their career says they would do (or better).

Pestano has been horrible in the pen. The rest have been what I expected or better.

    I wouldn't pitch them either.

I agree with this post completely. The only surprise has been the poor performance of Swisher both in the field and with the bat.

The rest of the team is exactly what I expected.

Yep said that in April when we saw the team play for a couple of weeks. They are an average team.

Oh really? You still think Reynolds is a "40 home run guy"??

On the lighter side, walking out of the ball park yesterday my wife asked me if the Tigers were undefeated this year. I didnt marry a sports fan.
  • vball10set
All due respect, Hits, they're an average team in a below average division, and they're not even close to being ready for "prime time". They're fun to watch because they're unpredictable, but it also makes them frustrating to watch as well. The best way to follow team is without expectations, and it's going to be that way for a while. JMO.

You have to pitch them when your starter gets rocked.

The Tigers have 6 All Stars and the starting pitcher in yesterday's game should have made it over Masterson too.
